Met a Dolphin today!!

That is a cool story. I must say, I do find it interesting that he was in Dolphins gear outside of Florida. Call me crazy, but unless they have been fans of the team they play for, don't most players not wear team related items unless it's for an event or they are at the stadium?

Forgive my spelling. This was sent from my phone.

All depends what they feel like wearing that day.

I sat chatting with Kuech for about 10 mins waiting for our respective hair cutters to get done at a place in Deerfield Beach a number of years ago.

This isn't about meeting a dolphin player, but I grew up in Orlando and went to RTC (training camp) for the Navy in O town. Well, I was on a flag team and we got to go down to the Orange Bowl in 1976, to do a performance in a Dolphins-Patriot's regular season game at half time. It was in celebration for the Navy's 201st birthday and the nation's bicentennial. We got to sit right behind the goalpost at the closed end of the stadium. I had been a fan since 72, so it was just an awesome experience. The stands were packed with dolphin fans and we won a close one 10-3. Good times....

I've nener met any one famous if you want to call a practice guy famous but back to you're story why would you in Jonesboro Arkansas over Miami if you paly for the Dolphins

Well he grew up in Arkansas, so I'm guessing he's seeing family and friends there.

Cool story, yeah he won't be on the team long he is trying to pull in as many ladies as he can with that jersey on - I'm sure they love him in Arkansas.

I also met Tony Nathan when I was a kid. Nat Moore as well. Met Ray Rice when he played at Rutgers, he was real nice to my son. A few of my high school and college friends played in the NFL too.

I remember that game well. It was Bill Arnsparger's return to the Dolphins after the Giants dumped him. Our defense was a disaster in '76 but it briefly camouflaged all the weaknesses against New England.

I suppose my most memorable experience meeting a Dolphin player was when I talked my way into Biscayne College training camp in late summer 1982. I was still at USC and had some modest press credentials via the sportswriting professor, who worked for the Los Angeles Daily News. Roy Foster of USC was our #1 pick. I knew him a little bit from USC, primarily because we played in the same intramural basketball league on Sundays in the USC North Gym a few months earlier. There really wasn't much security or any type of background check in those days. I basically showed up, watched practice and asked to speak to Roy. He recognized me and agreed to an interview for the USC student paper. The dorm room was tiny. Two boxes of chocolate chip cookies on the nightstand. Roy was exhausted after practice, still adjusting to the Miami humidity. He collapsed on the bed and answered my questions for roughly a half hour.

Every time I round the bend on the Palmetto I lament the move of the franchise headquarters from Miami proper. I don't have any sympathy or false expectations when the big decisions have been butchered for so long. We'll screw with the logo but don't care that our venue is so bland it's almost as if that were the sole intention.

Pretty awesome. I met a guy today who has already been working for UPS for several years now. He delivered a package to my house. He was also wearing the gear of his current employer. Of course he was actually on duty for his employer though seeing as he was delivering packages and all.

Did this guy you met ask you for an application? You are the manager. Im sure he's glad youre impressed with him. Gives him a good shot at a job in lawn and garden in late August.

I hear Cam Wake goes around small towns wearing full phins gear because he cant wait to tell people he's on the team if they acknowledge his apparel.

It's always nice to hear good things. Thanks for sharing.
