Met Nick Buoniconti Last Nite

Last night I met Nick Buoniconti in Toronto, Canada. He was attending an event to raise funds for spinal cord project. His son Marc was also there. He spoke about the Buoniconti fund to cure paralysis. The event was organized by Carlton Chester "Cookie" Gilchrist. He was a NFL and CFL player. He played for the Miami Dolphins in 1966. Buoniconti arrived in Miami in 1969, but they became friends when Nick was playing for the Boston Patriots. That is whay Nick said. Gilchrist has throat cancer and he did not speak.
After his speech, I got to meet Nick and shake his hand. I was not fortunate enough to take a picture with him, but I got to ask him about our LB corp and he says he is excited to see what this group of "explosive guys" can do (To use his own words).
I also wanted to ask him about Cam and Randy, but there was a huge line of people waiting for him.
Too bad, oh, well, it was nice to meet him. Just wanted to share.
 
sweet dude. i wish i could meet some famous football player of the past or present. i only have a signed football by c pep( didnt get to meet him, friend did but he got it for me) and i met basketball players like two of them lol. basketball is my favorite sport but i for some reason always wanted to meet football players.sorry to get off topic guys, just felt liek wrighting it

That is cool dude. I have only met two other Dolphin players. I met Dan Marino at a party for Gloria and Emilio Estefan. I also met Sage Rosenfels at the airport a few years ago.
I have met a few hockey players, but never met a basketball player. I saw Ronaldihno, the brasilian soccer player, in the airport in Miami once.
 
bummer about Cookie..., man, were we EXCITED over him. He was a four time probowler... but like a lot of Georges first Dolphin team, he was done by the time we got him.
 
I met Gayle Sayers, Chicago Bear Hall Of Fame runningback, at an event in Miami. I introduced him to my then girlfriend and she asked him why he wasn't playing anymore? He said,"I hurt my knee." She comes back with,"it looks allright to me"!!!!! He was cool and we shared a laugh. The girlfriend got replaced.

sweet, you met marino. i love ronaldinho, favorite soccer player along with kaka.im from bosnia so our soccer team is not that good cuz its very young and was just formed again. since bosnia isnt that good i mostly pay attention to argentina and brazil.yeah i met darko milicic( hes from serbia like my dad, he is the center for orlando magic) i met mike miller ( memphis grizzlies SF) and old fart darrell armstrong.but yeah thats awesome, i wood do anything to meet ronaldinho

I'm not a Dolphin fan, but I cried like a baby watching Nick's HOF speech with his son there and all. I also miss him on Inside The NFL, it has never been the same since Nick & Len Dawson left.

That may be the best sports movie ever.........

Rudy, Hoosiers, Miracle on Ice, and Remember the Titans were all good, but Brians Song tops all.

We as guys have Brians Song, the women have Titanic
 
i met Joe Klecko before. he asked me if there was anything he could do to turn me into a jets fan.....i laughed and said "hell no".
