Miami $4.9 or $9.6 Million Under the cap ?

Just an update for those wondering. Miami is $4.9 Under the cap as of 8/16/2011 per NFL.com.

Per NFL.com http://blogs.nfl.com/?p=83848&preview=true

Edited: 8/16 @ 10:22AM PST

Pro Football Talk reports that Miami is acutally $9.6 Million under that cap as of 8/15.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/08/16/updated-cap-space-as-of-august-15/

SO, PFT is reporting as of 8/15 that $9.6 Million was our cap number and NFL.com is reporting as of 8/16 that $4.9 Million is our cap number.

This is a bit odd that the numbers are so off base. Only thing I can think is that between yesterday and today some sort of agreement on an extension for Langford may have been reached which changed the cap number??? But I havnt heard anything about that yet so I am not sure.

Personally I am inclined to go with what is on NFL.com as opposed to PFT, but PFT is a great site for football news.

Phins O-line is in need of some better talent. I hope we trade for an upgrade at G or RT and put those those 4mill to some good use.

I guess Armando's math is about as good as his writing skills.

Armando? did you even read it? It's Jason LaCanfora

On another note.. I can't believe we're one of the highest payrolls in the league and we still can't make the playoffs.

Far and away the highest payroll in our division.

He was refering to what Armando recently said in another article.

what if we traded a defensive player and a draft pick to a team for another player. we have around 5 mill and the defensive player took off another 4 mill. that would leave us some good money for that traded player who already has a good salary.

We need to extend Solia to free some money up. I would hope we can get a long term deal done with Wake and Langford sometime during the year.

Restructure/sign long term Soliai and you could add another 4-5 million to our cap number

One site is figuring in the cost of a projected 53 man roster, the other site is doing it correctly, figuring in the highest paid 51 players on the team.

Either way thats enough for Waters and or Ohara if someone restructures.....The Oline will dictate if this team is competitive or not. Henne will decide playoffs or not.

I am going with the higher number.
