Miami awarded 4 guys

minor will be cut and another cb picked up, book it!

I was thinking Minor is the next cut victim as well.. Especially now that we added another RB/FB. I originally thought we would go with:

RB:
Ronnie
Chatman
Minor
Eventually Ricky

FB:
Evans
Morris

But now it looks more like:
Ronnie
Chatman
Morris
Eventually Ricky

FB:
Evans
Heckel

yeah I'm with dolfan1000 on this point. We are very thin at CB. So unless Saban is thinking he can pull a Belichik and get our receivers and safeties playing the position I think its alright to question his strategy regarding this position. It seems a little helter skelter the way he's making these moves.

Ok, sorry. I honestly am not too keen on the CB Jackson from Carolina. I wanted Chris Thompson from Jax, who the Bears claimed, apparently after we passed on him. I just need to keep reminding myself that Saban knows what he is doing and Mueller has always been high regarded when it comes to personnel moves. :) However much they know, one thing is for certain, it is more than any of us. But, you are correct, it is fun to express one's opinions.

Maybe sign Middlebrooks, cut Minor?

Is he the best CB available?

I read that he said he would retire if he were cut. He is 35 yrs old or so.

calm down. Nick IS NOT stupid when it comes to DBs...thats his forte. Eddie Jackson must've had very long arms and huge hands, as those are extremely important traits to Saban for his corners

I've never heard of Eddie Jackson. I don't think he played in the last preseason game for Carolina. That was the only one I've watched. According to NFL.com he had 5 tackles in the other 3 games.

You're right. Nick the magician will just make one appear.

Man, he may be a good coach... hell he may be a GREAT coach, but he cannot make gold out of POOP! He must have a plan, I agree, but this move is questionnable at this point.

I'm very happy with the Eckel signing. I saw him bust through defenders to get to the endzone in one of the PS games. Dude's got power, and ran for over 1,000 yards as a FB

Eddie Jackson has blistering speed. He played at Arkansas, so Nick Saban is familiar with going against him. This guy ran a 7.10 in the 60 yard dash on the Arkansas track team, which was fourth in the SEC.

Jackson was good enough that he made the Panthers roster last year and played in 10 games. He is 6'0", 190 lbs with good speed.

Jackson has good size, 6' and 200 lbs. He was the 3rd corner for the Razorbacks as a senior behind Batman Carroll (GB's 1st rounder last year) and Lawrence Richardson. He runs the forty in about 4.5 and all three ran track at Arkansas.
