Notice that the Patriots are bringing him in for a visit as well.

I see that Spielman is taking from what makes the Patriots so successful. Bringing in good, solid, hard-working role players that can contribute in several ways. Such as S Chris Akins and LB Isaiah Kacyvenski.

Spielman knows what he's doing...even if it's copying the Pats. :)

Isaiah Kacyvenski canceled his visit because he re-signed with Seattle. But your point is valit. :)

Kacyvenski canceled his visit as he's set to re-sign with Seattle.

is spielman copying pats or did pats copy spielman? I think Pioli knows spielman and they think similarly. Spielman has been going after younger unkowns since he has been here. It is his Modus Operendi. I think what the pats did the first super bowl year was to get our guys like Buckley and Izzo and made them special type players. thats all. Now are we doing it to them? well, we have one guy, but we would need to get a few more to equal it out i think.

This is a carry-over type deal we've always brought in guys of that nature either via FA or through the draft.

i don't know , i want to be optimistic but it seems we're headed down the same road as last year . the FO has been saying we need offence (line ) but we sign one offensive player and three defense .... i know it's early in the FA season but i'm starting to worried ...

I saw yesterday that Mcgarrahan was an UFA. It would be nice to have him back on ST. I thought he was a great player for us.

Actually.. they are copying me.. but I will be the last to mention it

Check out Moneyball

Even if you are not a big baseball fan, I suggest reading Moneyball, an insiders look into the oakland A's front office in general and Billy Beane in particular.

I think there are some significant similarities between the Pat's success and the A's. (Of course the Pat's have won it all while the A's haven't).

I also thought about Beane's approach to players when I was reading about Rick's formula specific basis for signing Feely.

I would agree if we had BB here coaching. As it is, the "plan" may be the same and it's great! As long as you have someone to caoch them properly.
