As of last night the Miami Dolphins are currently sitting around the 15th or 16th pick in the first round of next year' NFL draft. As we're tied with four other teams, Buffalo ( whose pick goes to Cleveland), Texans, and KC. Depending on what happen on Sunday against the Jets, that pick could be around the 19th spot with a win and the 16 spot with a loss. Which is a good news because that is where Miami usually picks since the 90's. Mediocre, I tell you has its price. Perfect spot for the team to pick their next offensive lineman making it 8 years in a row the team has sacrificed for the OL. Nice..!

thx for the info.. I have more faith in Hickey getting maximum mileage out of that pick than I did his predecessor.. so who knows. After all, Dez Bryant was picked 19th, wasn't he? But be that as it may, why are you shouting?

Yes as Vaark says. It's a whole new strategy for us with Hickey, instead of you know, that other guy.. We may actually finally get some talent, out of our usual middle of the pack pick..

dont care. Someone will be there that can help right away no matter where we pick. Although we got screwed IMO with the whole tie breaker situation and getting stuck at 19 when Jets supposedly took second place in standings but picked ahead of us.

Sounds about right. Next step in this process is that we'll lose 2-3 starting players in the off season and get awarded one 7th round compensatory pick, while the Patriots will lose somebody they had for a week during training camp and mysteriously get awarded two 3rd rounders.

24th, unfortunately.

Its way to early to talk draft, But isn't it a foregone conclusion we're picking a Olineman with the 1st overall pick?

I could never root for my team to lose but I really wouldn't have minded losing these last two games. This draft will allow us to get a much clearer look at who hickey really is when he's not desperately trying to clean up the toxic spill Ireland left.

at 15 or 16 I would love a linebacker or defensive tackle. Even a corner....

It's never too early to talk about the draft. Yes we need help up front on both sides but I'm hoping at last we take a real playmaker for Tannehill.

Not at all.....the Two tackles and center are set......billy turner should be ready to assume a guard position.....so that leaves us with one big guard hole to fill.

of course we need more depth as well.

The first pick needs to give us impact...whether it is a tall red zone target.....or a stud linebacker....a shutdown corner....a ball hawking safety.

I hope we can fill our remaining O-line holes in free agency.

I also hope McCain & Tripp mature and are ready to help our linebacking corp.

I believe Jamar Taylor will be ready to man a starting corner position.

So i see it as either a WR/TE Big target....or a stud linebacker in the first round.

I am hoping Miami thrashes the jest for the obvious reason. But, having a pick around 22 would be better.

Why, you ask?

Easier to acquire more picks. In case some one like Denver wants to move up in the 1st or Houston wants to get another 1st rounder.

I'd be ecstatic w/ Melvin Gordon or Danny Shelton in the 1st.

Albert's knee is going to be a huge question mark though. Even with that said, there's no reason to go O-line again in the first round this draft. Like you said, i think we need a big target at WR to compliment Wallace, Landry, and Clay.

We have plenty of needs. ...I might just take the BPA...regardless of need. Other than the QB position, we could use some upgrades everywhere.
