I agree about the offense needing to gel, it's still a definite work in progress. New system and new coaches on offense, Tua still growing, etc. The defense just was playing soft in early part of year instead of attacking like they did last year and from the middle of this year.

Just think, the Dolphins defense only had 12 sacks through the first 8 games.

They’ve had 33 the 7 games since.

Imagine if they hadn’t effed around so damn long
Yup, its all on the coaching staff. For some reason which I still do not understand, they went away from what made our defense one of the best last season. It took 8 games, I'll say it again, 8 GAMES! before they changed it back and we started winning.

It was the defensive play calling, not that they were playing soft.

a) the competition level went down

b) I think Holland's development has allowed Flores to start doing his thing

if Jessie Davis hadn't effed up we would prolly be at least 10-5 right now

I hear you. However the Dolphins have had stretches of facing “down“ competition many times over the decades yet still hadn’t posted 7 consecutive wins or as many sacks as they have this time around.

Last 7 game win streak was in 1985.

While I acknowledge the competition, that point is being overstated and overvalued by many.

As we’ve seen play out this season — parity is widespread. We’ve seen bottom tier teams knock off playoff front runners multiple times.

Winning 7 consecutive games and playing defense as consistently as Miami has during this stretch is no easy or small feat no matter who they played.
