If you look at who they signed it was a group of guys that for the most part were draftable.

Fifita NT was considered the best "pure" nose tackle.
Bray and McGrew LBs were considered draftable due to their instincts and toughness.
Ishola DE was considered draftable due to his clock time and size.
Riggs RB was expected to be picked in the middle of the draft.
McNeil C was considered the sleeper among centers.
Kimble WR, while considered a sleeper, was second among division 2 wrs all time in receptions, second only to Rice.
Olmstead was a punter at the Senior Bowl.
Holland QB is highlighted as a sleeper among several publications, and has the tools necessary to make it in the league (e.g., can make all the throws).

If you look at the unsigned rookies there are additional interesting guys:
Bramell is a tall QB who could develop
Stefon Wheeler OT is a huge man, who with weight control, has potential
Leon Moore DE was a big play man at UNLV, and has his own website.
Darren Williams was a starter at S with Mississippi State, and a high school all-american. He was kicked off the team and went on to Jacksonville State. Draftdaddy.com considers him a sleeper.
Tommy Richardson was the team captain on defense at LB for North Carolina. If any of you Cane fans want to chime in on how good he was it would be greatly appreciated?

I am impressed with what appears to be good assessment of undrafted talent. Let us see if any make it.

Well, you know, sometimes the biggest steals could be the leftovers, ya know?

I think Saban will make a living at undrafted rookies, for years to come. I hope we can turn some of the second tier talent into future draft picks.

I really like Riggs and was surprised that he went undrafted. Before the draft I was telling a friend that he was a solid player and reminded me of Sammy Morris.

Huh? It's a numbers game. You hope a couple of them are diamonds in the rough. Every organization tries to do the same thing.

Not all of these players will definately be cut. Every year some plenty of undrafted players make the leauge. Like Adawale for example. I'm sure lots of people said "who's this guy?" and he's been a starter on 2 of the best Ds in the leauge.

most of those pple wont even make the practice squad much less the team

Really? I'm sure you are the only genius on this site who knows this  .
However, there are some intriguing names on that list of UFA's and if only 1 or 2 turn out to be quality players and can contribute, then this camp is a success.

reading is important..i said most, not all...and its pretty obvious that most wont make it..this happens every year...statistically, most udfa dont make the team..its pretty simple

Nice post, the guy to watch is Ben Ishola, he ran 4.50, could be a LB passrusher in passing downs.
