I don't think that we are a 3-13 team, our D is too good. But I don't think the article is way off base, either.
They really threw Henne under the bus in an unfair fashion in talking about his off season as by all accounts he showed a great deal of leadership through holding all of the player only OTAs, but the overall analysis of the offense was pretty spot on. What did they say about the O that anyone can HONESTLY disagree with?
At QB Henne could be better, and I think he will be, but who really knows? On the o-line, Mark Colombo was one of the worst RTs in the league last year, we have a rookie at C and Vernon Carey is clearly declining. At RB, we have a completely unproven rookie who needs to carry a large load at RB because Bush has never proven to be anything close to an every down back. At WR, Marshall is a monster and Bess is great in the slot but Hartline is underwhelming, Gates is a rookie, and the receiving corps on any team is really hindered obviously if the QB play is sub par. At TE - Fasano is just okay, he doesn't kill you but he really doesn't scare anybody.
Like I've said before, our O definitely has some bright spots and some potential if it is executed properly and certain unproven guys step up, but objectively you can't assume these guys will be MUCH better than last year.
Honestly I think we are much closer to .500 than we are 3-13, and if the ball bounces our way we could fight for 9-7 or 10-6... But I'm not all that hopeful.
