Its become evident in the week following the conclusion of the regular season, that the quarterback position has been the hottest topic for debate. I know that some of you are tired of the endless quarterback threads, but I would like to get a general sense of who people want behind center come September.

This is a little silly....

Frerrotte, sage or Lemon will start, just becasue they know the system. The only other possible guy is culpepper, but he wont be rehabed in time.

With the SB in Miami saban will not wait around for some new guy to learn the system. Now halfway through the year is another story if frerrote starts to suck...

Joey H? I can't believe that the new coach will want him there.

I'll take Simms because I think Miami will be able to either outbid Tampa for his services or strike a deal for him.

If that isn't the case, I sincerely hope Miami brings in a veteran QB superior to Gus to start in the short term while a rookie is brought along. I have made much hay about Kitna/Croyle, and I think that's a very good choice. If McNair is on the market, he works, too. If Favre shockingly does continue playing but looks for another team, Miami would be crazy to pass him up.

Joey Harrington and Chris Simms will not be an upgrade for us. A guy who backed up A.J. Feely and a guy who backed up Brian Griese. LOL! Gus Frerrotte will be the starter again next season, like it or not.

Chris Simms has backed up Griese for parts of two years. Those two years were his first two years in the NFL. Saying you don't want him is the equivalent of saying you wouldn't have wanted Brett Favre because he backed up the likes of Chris Miller and Billy Joe Tolliver. It's also like saying you wouldn't want Jake Delhomme because he backed up the likes of Aaron Brooks and Jeff Blake. If you're going to take this position, I think it's fair to suggest that you have impossibly high standards for Miami's next QB. The only thing that doesn't jibe with that is your opinion that Gus will continue. That's a nightmare.

I say we take Griese or Simms, based on the fact that I think they are the best two that could become available. They are both relatively young and with all the tools we have on offense, I think either one would flourish.

People say jacobs is great, but the more I lookup Cutler, the more I see that he's an NFL type QB. He's not some guy who was great in college, then has to adjust and adapt for 3 years. just look at his picture, he has NFL written all over him!

Check this site out for some good draftee info: http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/rankings/qb.html

Simms...is an option...but I much rather go with Cutler or Jacobs. (But simms WAS playing really good against an elite washington defense, so I dunno)

But one things for sure, I really like this years QB, those top 4 QBs are all big guys, 6'4 6'5, 220+ pounds, Unlike last years QBs. I believe that you have to be big to do well in the NFL. Unless you have extrordinary skill. Thats just my opinion.

I`d like Simms, but Bucs will ask first and third for him. I don`t think Saban is willing to give so much for him. Then I`d like Drew Brees, but I don`t know if he`ll be healthy for the start of the next season. The third option would be a rookie QB. Cutler perhaps, or Omar Jacobs. Not Marcus Vick, please!

I'm taking Gus because I don't believe any of the guys on the list will be here except maybe couch or a rookie QB, and neither of those two will get in front of Gus.

But I can hope...

we will draft Jacobs in the 3rd and Frerotte will be starter until Jacobs is ready or until he gets injuried

I think the Dolphins should talk to the Redskins about Patrick Ramsey. I don't think he has been given a good opportunity yet.

That's fine, but he would come in as an alternative to drafting somebody. He needs serious work with a QB specialist who can help him unlearn the bad habits Spurrier and Rob Johnson taught him. The kid has talent, but he holds the ball too long and takes too many sacks.
