I was searching on YouTube, to see if I can find a video of the Pats defense in week 3, squaring up to the unfamiliar formation eventually known as the Wildcat. I remember seeing alot of pointing and double takes and confusion, and would love to see it again. I couldn't find it.

I went to nfl.com, and the closest thing I could find is this week 3 highlight clip. I thought some of you would like to stroll back to wonderful week 3, when Miami came out of nowhere and punched coach Bill Belichick right in the gizzard.

GO MIAMI!

I was gonna say it was definitely in week 3 vs. the Pats no question. We had just been annihilated by the Cards the week before bringing us to 0-2. It looked like it was going to be a long dismal season like last year. Then came week 3 and the only word for it is spark. Sparked our whole season.

As great a game as that was, I'll be happy when I never have to hear about the Wildcat again.

Really? You dislike it that much? I'm not a HUGE fan of it or anything. It did help spark our offense, but since week 3 the production out of the formation has steadily declined. I'm ok with it as long as it keeps producing positively. If we start to lose yardage over 50% of the times it's run, then I say stop using it. I do like it better in goal line situations, and I also like the fact that sometimes it allows Penny to rest for a couple plays of the game and have more chance of not getting injured.

You have to at least respect the Wildcat in the sense that it lifted this team's spirits early in the season.

It's not that I like or dislike it. I'll take any formation or play if we can get production out of it. What I dislike is it's become such a part of this season, it spawns things like "The only reason the Dolphins are winning is becuase of the Wildcat", "Lets bring Marcus Vick back in, because he'd be great for the wildcat", Will other teams use "our" Wildcat against us, etc. oh yeah.. "Look at other teams copycating "our" Wildcat.

After the year, it's unlikely you'll see anyone running the Wildcat in the NFL next year. It's more or less become an albatross for us now as it is. I'll be glad when we can line up nose to nose with teams and beat them.
