Miami Dolphins 2014 2nd round pick- Jarvis Landry

Landry will be fine in the NFL. He may have a bad 40 but he can get plenty of separation because he is a filthy route runner and has good hands.

if we were going to draft WR and OT in the first two rounds, would have rather had a WR with more upside 1st and the lineman 2nd.

Great routes and great hands is worth more than any combine measurable.

And that's landry. Great pick up.

I remember last year when I said Keenan Allen was the best wr in the draft and one of the most polished wrs I've ever seen, and had him as a top 15 pick, and all the draft experts cried about his lack of combine speed and questioned if he would separate in the NFL.

good technique on the NFL football field is faster and more consistent than combine speed. Straight line speed is the most overrated measurable in the NFL. Landry is a heck of a WR.

let's forget about his 40 time. It's not like he is a receiver or anything. Short slow receivers are real difficult to find in a very deep WR class. So what if he will struggle to get PT and so what if his QB can't find Wallace more than twice a game even though he is open constantly. The important thing is that apologist for Hickey a.k.a. Ireland 2.0 are out defending him and happy.

Have you done any draft research whatsoever? Serious question.

LMAO.

People blindly love Hickey now but he reached on three guys. We will be looking for a new gm shortly

I am literally cracking up at all of you calling people idiots for not liking taking the 150th ranked player in the 60's.

Are message boards always this homerish? Just because I love the team doesnt mean I will blindly love the crap picks they make.

What's are you getting your rankings? No doubt James was a reach. Landry and Turner, not so much.

So. 1.Wallace 2.Gibson 3.Hartline 4.Landry 5.Matthews

Philbin doesn't have that kind of mind set.

Whoever has the mismatch gets to eat that day.

The advantage in that mindset, is your never forcing the ball, the way detroit is always forcing it to Calvin.

You got a shutdown CB? Great for you, well go elsewhere.

Landry is a playmaker and phins need a tough reliable Wr. Too bad we had so many OL issues going into this draft. Hickey I believe has now corrected them.

Turner is potential LG starter. Hehas good pass protection skills but looking at the tape his run blocking is excellent. He always seems to be up field hitting defenders.

Agreed. I'm very interested to see what Lazor has in store for Wallace specifically as opossed to Shereman's, 'split 'em out wide to the sideline and run a fly or slant' BS.

I don't Blame Sherman for that, that is where Wallace excels. And despite how much fans were mad at his production, he did have 5 TDs and almost 1k yards, which isn't bad. Was inches away quite often from a lot more big plays too.

Also if you look at Charles clay last year, almost all his big plays came from the right side where Wallace cleared the field just by being there. Pitt game is a perfect example.

I also never for a second believed the costing staff wanted Wallace, IMO Ross forced him on them to please he fans. He's the opposite of what every other WR philbin has brought in, is. But it doesn't make a difference now either way.

He is not only slow, he was the slowest wr at the entire combine. At 5-11

Yes he produced playing with a great offense. Still a terrible pick. Slowest, as in none at the entire combine were slower. He didn't only do bad, he failed miserably

You sound like you'd be the perfect Raiders GM

I like this guy. Easily our best move.

If we were going to screw around with all the trade downs and indecision, at least we targeted the deepest position in the draft. That allowed margin for error and I think we capitalized.

Landry isn't a great player but he's great by the standards of our roster.

That right there is key: "Great by the standards of our roster."

Roster full of 2b WRs and 3s and 4s and 5s. And on playoff teams, WRs 2-5 wouldn't start.

Landry will push for a starting spot.

He will make the sorry WR corps better.
