Miami Dolphins 4th round selection- Walt Aikens CB

I dont know the specifics. What I do know is he was convicted of a crime, so I doubt it was a complete misunderstanding. I do not believe what he says about this though, that's for sure.

He was convicted of a crime. Not that I care much as if you could play football you could play, but to dismiss it according to his explanation isn't correct either.

Just because someone is convicted doesn't mean they are guilty.

Do you forget what you say post to post?

You say he didnt know it was stolen (ie not a crime then) and say the school punished him to send a statement. No, actually the school got rid of him because he was convicted (not accused) of a crime.

I know more than most innocent people are sometimes convicted. I also know not to believe the guy who gets caught with everything he says. Most of the time I trust the convictions, especially when the person pleads guilty. Not 100%, but with a misdemeanor plea like this I think its safe to say he did wrong. Much more believable then years afterwards him trying to minimize it to look better to future employers.

Like I said though, I really couldnt care he was convicted of misdemeanor theft if he could play football.

There were lots of good players still available when Aikens was drafted in the 4th round. In fact I'm pretty sure that our 5th round pick, Jordan Tripp is pretty good. He is likely to be a special teams beast, and maybe more.
The net conclusion is that they must really like Aikens. Liberty is the late Rev Jerry Falwell's religious university and is not renowned for producing NFL footballers.

My guess is they want him to compete at CB and KR. He might be able to improve the return game.

Aikens will make this team. Another CB iron in the fire. I always feel you have to have your WR/CB's who are that....most all of them take 2-3 years to become someone. its like that at the skill positions where alot of learning is required in communication, study, read insticnts, ect ect.

Came into this thread hoping for some football related discussion and info on this kid. Like, think he will be groomed as a safety?

Instead, a bunch monkeys throwing feces.
