Miami Dolphins 6th round selection- Matt Hazel WR

I'm so glad we are drafting more WR's that won't make the roster, rather than going after a linebacker who we could actually use.

We carried just 4 WRs on the roster last season. What's the problem here? We're probably going to carry 5 or 6 this year. I fully expect to see more of the 4 and 5 wide sets Philbin originally wanted to run, but couldn't because we couldn't protect the damn QB or just didn't have the personnel.

RT has got to be loving this draft. Got some guys that will actually fight for the ball.

I guess Hickey is not very happy with the receiving corps.

It's a mid 6th rd pick that may have some potential and special teams value. If not possibly a practice squad guy to develop. Lets NOT OVERREACT about saying Hartline & Walace are being replaced by a 6th rd pick.

Played in the East-West Shrine Game – Good week of practice showing well against FBS corners. Separated with crisp route running. Has some shake in the open field.... Named first team All-Big South ... Broke his own CCU single-season record with 70 receptions ... His 990 receiving yards ranks second on the CCU single-season list ... Tied for the Big South lead --ranking 25th in the FCS -- with nine receiving TDs ... Ranked second in the Big South in both receptions (5.0 per game and 70 total) and receiving yards (70.1 per game and 990 total) ... Ranked 27th with 70 receptions (56th with 5.0 per game) and 32nd in receiving yards (56th with 70.1 yards per game)

Nobody is saying they are going to be replaced by a 6th round pick, but considering we already have a stable of WR's for opening day, as well as for training camp, adding yet another seems unnecessary. I can only imagine its for special teams.

Hazel: A lot of teams told me I'm versatile, can play inside and outside. I feel like I can move chains on first down. I'm all around WR.

Hazel: After East-West I felt real good, got a lot of great feedback. I felt like I had something to prove there.

Compares himself to Thomas

Hazel: Demayrius Thomas, we can both catch the ball well. He's a great blocker, I think I'm a good blocker, I can get better at that.
