The Miami Dolphins, through our "Special Teams Driven by Chevy" volunteer program are partnering with "AARP Foundation" to pack ONE MILLION MEALS for less fortunate individuals 50+ years of age in the South Florida area and support feeding those people with the donation. The Special Teams and AARP organizations are looking for 6,000 volunteers to donate their time to assemble meals to help feed those less fortunate. The minimum age to volunteer is 10 years old and volunteers will work an assembly line combining ingredients and vitamins to make one million nutritious meals.

The event date is:
Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sun Life Stadium Gate G, 347 Don Shula Drive, Miami Gardens, FL 33056

It would be great if those of you who are local can volunteer and help us reach the one million meal mark. You can volunteer for any of the following time periods:

7 a.m. - 12:30 pm
8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
11:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
12 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Whether you can attend or not, we would appreciate it if you could help spread the word for the event by either writing articles or tweeting out the information.

Volunteers can sign up at www.dolphins.com/aarpfoundation or go directly to this page: http://bit.ly/1l5UQAg.

Thanks in advance for your support of this worthwhile cause

HUGE props to anybody local willing to donate their time to help out ...

Mr. "Bumpus" is taking his 8th Grade homeroom to volunteer @ the Wheeling Soup Kitchen next Friday!

... How are YOU helping the less fortunate members of YOUR community this year?

Remember ... Some day, it could be YOU that needs a helping hand. Just saying.
