The Dolphins aren't quite ready to be in on this most-complete team chat. But they are playing pretty well as they head up to New England this weekend. The offense ranks sixth in points per play this season (.484). Ryan Tannehill has continued to improve, as he's won 10 of his last 11 games dating back to 2016. He's completed more than 71 percent of his passes in every game this season, while throwing for at least two touchdowns in all three victories. He's averaging 9.3 yards per attempt, which matches up with Goff.

Miami receivers Jakeem Grant (3.86) and Albert Wilson (3.84) are first and second in yards per route run, according to Pro Football Focus. And that's the preferred stat, as it's believed to be a better indicator of production than yards per reception or yards per target.

I told you about Xavien Howard in the summer. He's on the verge of breaking out. He added two more interceptions against the Raiders on Sunday, giving him three total heading into Week 4.

I'm feeling the Dolphins. I don't want to put too much stock in this Sunday's game. The Patriots are reeling after back-to-back losses. They are still without the suspended Julian Edelman, and historically, they play better in December than September. So a win at New England, while huge, won't mean the world. Likewise, a loss to a desperate Bill Belichick team isn't going to rule them out, either.

Lots of people think they are. Local radio sportstalk show this AM had one guy give his rankings after Week 3 and he had Miami as #3 in the league. The other hosts gave him a ton of **** and even a caller right after.

ESPN thinks NE wins. All of the picks. Shannon Sharpe does too.

No one buys the Dolphins.

We'll find out soon enough one way or the other but it's been a crazy season already. Bills beating vikings on the road. Lions beating the pats. Nothing's for sure right now.

I can understand how someone in the outside would have reservations.

First of all, the Dolphins have been mediocre for a couple decades now. Irrespective of the reasons, that is fact.

Second of all, as far as the Pats dynasty being over, I go back to Mark Twain.
"The reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated"

I believe the Brady/Bellicheat era is coming to an end, as father time is undefeated. This is the best shot to wrest the division from them we have had, but I can't write off the Patriots until it actually occurs.

The NE media has no respect for us at all. Even if we win we're destined for 8-8 anyways. God do I hate the Patriots. I've said it 2 times here already there isn't a win I could find more satisfying during the regular season than going into Foxboro and beating the Patriots.

A win this week in a very hostile environment that is known for it's home field advantage will speak volumes. We will have flipped the switch and the media will be on our jocks big time. That being said, I like being the dog but due respect will be finally given with a win and a very tough one at that should it happen.

The best part about a win at NE would be the talking heads will be more focused on the fallout in NE than the 4-0 fins.

I think that would be huge because coming off a big win can lead to some stale play, especially on the road the next game vs a bengals team that plays us tough

Local radio in Ohio wasn’t buying any of the 3-0 teams except the Rams, said Miami hasn’t played anyone, and the chiefs haven’t stopped anyone...and they pretty much made up excuses for New England saying they don’t know their team until a month has passed.

Or a close hard-fought loss.

Thats what I want to see if not a win. If we lose an easy game with sack of **** effort such as 3 and outs, piss poor 3rd down conversions, penalties, turnovers, etc we might as well be 0-3. We will have to beat the Pats and stripes though unfortunately.

Rams are going to be tested this week with the loss of Talib AND Peters. That's gotta hurt. Chiefs won't face a good offense until week 12 vs the Rams.

I disagree...this win would mark the first 3 consecutive loss streak since Brady became the Patriots QB....he is 41...the team overall is not that great anymore....and very beatable.

Rams are really good. But their opponents are:

0-3
0-3
1-2
1-2-1

And Miami hasn’t played anyone?
