INDIANAPOLIS — Dolphins coach Brian Flores jumped at an opportunity Wednesday morning to tip his cap to John Wooten, the retiring chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance.
But it was nothing compared to what Wooten said Wednesday afternoon about Flores and his potential as a head coach.
"I've had the privilege of being around a lot of great coaches, going all the way back to Paul Brown and coach (Tom) Landry," said Wooten, who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1959 and spent 17 years as the Dallas Cowboys' director of pro scouting. "These are men I worked for. And if there is anything I know, I know what a head coach looks like."
