FORT LAUDERDALE — Addressing a news conference where the local NFL team is 0-5, has a stripped-down roster and fans are popularizing the "TankforTua" hashtag, league Commissioner Roger Goodell said Wednesday afternoon that he doesn't believe tanking is an issue in pro football.

"The good news for us is we don't see that," Goodell said in response to a question on whether tanking by any club would convince him a draft lottery is necessary.

The league's two-day winter meeting concluded Wednesday with topics of discussion centering on officiating and a collective bargaining agreement but not a whisper about the need for a lottery.

The league is in healthy shape

Our Commissioner simply follows the money - if he can’t be sure to line the owners pockets he would likely suggest changes -

Yep, unless there's evidence that what is happening will have an effect on the income of the 31 other owners it's unlikely they'll instruct the commissioner to do anything.

Doesn’t the league office have to approve all trades? If they didn’t like what we are doing, they could of stopped the trades. It’s not like good starting players where traded for 4th round picks. Every trade we made was for good value, or what might be grate value. The only trade that we lost on in my opinion is the One we made with Dallas.

If anything I assume an owner is gonna make a huge deal their team didn't get in the playoffs because we were "not competitive". That is where the scenario could turn interesting but I doubt much would happen.

I think they would only really be concerned with coaches and players actually losing on purpose, and they do not see that in Miami. Just lack of talent.

clearly Rosen was the worst trade...probably since we traded for Marshall.

The coaches and players are not trying to lose games. We lack the talent right now but we got plenty of picks for the players we traded away. There's nothing to see there other than the fake news looking for clicks.
