In those chaotic moments the injury occurred to end Cameron Wake’s 2015 season, several things were in play. Some were obvious to the naked eye, some not, just as some of what was unfolding could be expected, some definitely not.
“Soon as it happened, I knew,” Wake said Saturday.
He knew he’d ruptured his Achilles.
He knew his season was over.
But he knew something else: His career wasn’t, not even with his 34th birthday around the corner. While Dolphins fans and media speculated on whether we’d seen the last of Cameron Wake, the decision to come back had long been made.
When?
“The second the play happened,” he said.
