As the Dolphins prepare to play the Ravens on Sunday, the defensive front is placing a major focus on spreading those sacks around. Porter's 6 ½ sacks account for half of the team's total of 13 sacks.

So even though Porter is tied for second in the NFL, the unit as a whole is tied for 10th.

''Who got pressure'' on Houston quarterback Matt Schaub? nose guard Jason Ferguson said. ``Joey. That's it. So we've got to pick up our game. We've got to help him out. We've got to get some licks on him from the defensive line. That's part of our job, too.''

Middle linebacker Channing Crowder, who led the team with nine solo tackles against the Texans, was the only other Dolphins player to have a quarterback hurry in the game. Porter, who had the game's only sack, had five other hurries of his own.

The biggest help to our secondary is a good pass rush. If the defensive front, especially in obvious passing downs, cannot get consistent pressure on the QB, I don't care how good your secondary is they will get burnt.

Yeah it even happen to us in the late 90's and early 00's when we had a pro bowl secondary. Our secondary now is bad, and can't afford to have a QB have all day to decide where he wants to throw the ball.

This is how we beat new england....rushing the passer.

If you guys noticed, when we played the Texans, Matt Schuab had alot of 3 step drops and releases....which leads me to beleive they studied the Arizona gametape....I don't think Flacco can do that, we need to throw the kitchewn sink at him the same way we did Matt Brady, errr I mean, Tom Cassell.....whoever the Pats QB is.

we need more pressure from our lineman... Holliday especially.... he's still on the team right ? Havent heard his name all year.

We also need Roth to revert to his old unblockable self. Houston doubled the linemen most of the game and left the LB's 1 on 1. That's the battle we have to win quickly.

I liked in the Charger game how Roth set the tone early getting to Rivers and disrupting the play. He knocked him pretty hard and you could see Rivers was affected by it.

If we could get early pressure from Porter, Roth, Merling, Langford, etc., I think the tone could be set for the entire game.

I say rattle them, and make them unaware of what's (or who's) coming next.
