The South Florida Sun-Sentinel takes a look at every position on the Miami Dolphins roster, analyzing the players under contract, providing a free agent outlook, and forecasting what the future might hold.

Tight end
Returners (3): Dion Sims, Arthur Lynch (Inj.), Jake Stoneburner
Free agents: Charles Clay and Gerell Robinson

Analysis: The Dolphins typically use two tight ends as the offense’s base package, which means re-signing Clay, or added another top shelf tight end to start opposite Sims is a priority. Sims, who caught 24 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns, showed significant progress from his rookie season. In 2014 he proved himself as a forceful blocker, and reliable pass catcher. He's expected to take the next step in his development in 2015.

need one more piece...sims is a keeper...clay will be back...can't create another hole

could see us resign clay and have sims and lynch and forego the position pretty much this offseason...i think its likely the route

Agreed.

If Clay is back and Lynch is health no need to go after another TE.

Toss in that the TE FA and draft market is beyond thin.

Unless Hickey wants to throw a franchise deal at Julius.... doubtuful. Plus I'm sure the Broncos will spend every last dime to keep the team together for a final run at a Super Bowl in what should be Peyton final year.

Jordan Cameron might never play again. Walking concussion, I wouldn't touch that.

i thought cameron played late in the season for the browns unless i'm mistaken...still i'd agree with his concussion history we have to steer clear of that
