Carter called the Dolphins "a very, very good football team," and pointed to "one of the best young offensive lines in football." He also said that it was "paramount that my guy from Ohio State, Ted Ginn Jr., steps up." If Ginn does, Carter believes "they are going to scare some people."

Johnson is "looking for them to be an 11-5, 10-6 football team." Johnson knows Bill Parcells well, so you can expect him to have some inside information. And he says that when he watches the Dolphins in the preseason, "I can tell now that Tony (Sparano) is running the team more and less of Bill having his hands on the situation."

Young, however, said, "I see things stiffening for them." That, in his view, is because teams that had bad records the year before tend to sneak up on opponents.

"That won't happen this year at all," Young said.

i hope that we sneek up, but the truth is that that last preseason game really scared me and i hope that we just let our guards down for the moment.

I think with the situation.... Weak SOS in 2008 and no respect from "sports" prognosticators we have a great chance of sneaking up on our first 4 or 5 opponents. I'm in the navy (i work with people from all corners of the united states, makes football season great because there is always someone at work that is a fan for the team we play each week) and no one i work with think the dolphins have a chance. that alone makes me think we are beeing over looked

I liked Steve Young as a player but honestly he is god awful as a commentator. He went to BYU and when he use to talk he sounded very intelligent. I can remember actually stating that he would one day be great on TV. Boy was I wrong, he sounds punch drunk from all those concussions and you'll notice the other commentators just waiting to jump in and save him if he starts to go off topic or lose his train of thought, which he often does.

He's also a big time Dolphin hater so 'F' him

i really don't care what these so called "experts" have to say about the dolphins. they don't know anything. i say we just let the players play.

he was all for us when Beck was around. I wouldn't say he's a hater. i don't think any of these guys 'hate' teams. They probably think most teams suck unbiasedly.

BYU athletes have always been real good @ restating the obvious. Further, he's bitter there are 2 former U of Utah Utes (Smith & Soliai) and only 1 BYU Alum (Denney) on the roster. Not to mention, the current powers that be kicked Beck to the curb.

There so much drama with the other teams in the division. Miami IMO is least likely to implode. Anyone who thinks the Pats D won't miss Bruschi & Harrison is nuts.

A roookie QB in NYC and a cancerous prima donna on a team w/ a substandard OL; the AFCE ought to be real interesting this yr.

We are definately still over looked by the entire NFL MEDIA and sometimes it sucks. The other day I heard in Mike and Mike and they expected the Dolphins to have an 8-8 season. I think we have a great team. We are talented in all the areas and our coaching is great, to me that is all that mathers. We have the same players as last year with one year already in the system and more.

When did the strenght of schedule became weak last year? was it when they were 0-2 or 4-2 or when the sports nation predicted that the fins will win 4 games? those stats are adjusted for media purposess and if the fins go 8-0 out the gate they will say Oh the league is down or the team that they are playing is down.

why? what did he say that's so bad? he said we're not going to sneak up on opponents, which is more than likely true. he also said it's going to be difficult to go 11-5 again, which is absolutely true.

Yeah I don't think it's fair to Steve Young to say 'screw him' just b/c of what he said. It doesn't mean what he said is correct though either. I don't see how the Phins won't be as good as last year's team b/c this year teams now know they are good.

Explain how the Patriots, Steelers, Ravens, and other good teams over the years ever got better then.
