You look at the roster of the Miami Dolphins and you see many glaring needs, although none of those needs are as cardinal (another Andrew Luck reference) as having a prominent quarterback.

These days, sunny South Florida has turned into a sullen land cast in the shadows of Andrew Luck's grandeur.

Funny how great quarterbacks tend to cast a shadow over potential greatness...damn you Dan Marino.

Since Dan Marino retired, Miami has made many failed attempts to acquire a franchise quarterback. In fact, you can't even count on your fingers how many quarterbacks Miami has had since Marino - unless you are some kind of super-being with an extraordinary amount of hand appendages.

The fact is, Miami has had a huge problem living up to any hype. Besides the 11-5 year in 2008, Miami has not lived up to expectations -that includes players, coaches and fans.

i agree with everyone except the part about dolphins really trying to find a franchise qb
really trying would be taking a quarterback in the 1st round something the dolphins last did since marino..

i think their should be a contingency plan
just in case the dolphins cant get luck for whatever reason
1) dolphins win too many games finish 4 and 12 get the third overall pick
2) luck decides to stay in school
3) Ireland is retained an not much impressed by luck thinking he is overhyped
4) Tony tells ireland not to draft luck because he will miss fieldgoals..
5) Ireland trades for romo and says we have our frachise QB and picks up an o lineman

...then we won't even take a look at Devlin, and bring in the old Sage. We won't be picking first next year, believe me...the only way to possibly get the 1st pick is to trade the farm to someone willing to buy it. So we still won't have a QB next year, even if we draft a rookie.

They don't have failed attempts to acquire a franchise quarterback. The problem is they have yet to make an attempt to acquire a real franchise quarterback. All they have done is pick up rejects from other teams, washed up has beens, never has beens, and a bunch of scrubs from the later rounds. Not one time have they taken an honest chance on anyone in the draft.

Instead, they have have used their first picks to draft nickelbacks, back up college RBs, and lineman.

I agree, "Suck for Luck" is not something to cheer about and represents an all time low.

Remember the Saints fans wearing bags on their heads? I think that has much more class than "suck for luck".

It p****d me off when guys were calling for "S4L" before the season even began but now unfortunately it just makes sense!

I am on the suck for luck bandwagon as well. It honestly kills me that only 4 games through the season, I am saying that to myself. Years of bad drafting, mediocity, and bad coaching have lead up to this. It's really a bitter pill to swallow.

why would it piss you off? there were a lot of us here that could tell (by watching last season and knowing we had not addressed any holes) that we were going to suck hard this year.

if you thought the team we are fielding now had any more than 7+ wins since NOTHING CHANGED then im sorry to say you have no clue on football or you are a home...not attacking you directly, Im using you as the people on this board that are out of touch with reality, more of the spanish nosotros you....

We tank one season for a decade of success.

Some individuals rather have another 7-9 season.

At the beginning of the season, like every season I had hope that things would come together and we would at least have a winning season. Last year we went 7-9 with at least 4 of those losses being winnable games.

If that makes me clueless, whatever... but wishing to suck before the season has even began is not my style!
