It's a low risk move but why not sign Portis? He's the better option in my opinion and he's younger. Not to mention his track record is miles ahead of LJ.

Didn't the Pats sign Fred Taylor to be the #1 or #2 back and gave him a multi-year deal with some decent money? The Patriots TRADED for an aging, on the decline WR in Ochocinco this offseason and I would think the Patriots probably have him in their starting lineup or at worst one of the top 3 guys. The Patriots were considered geniuses when these moves were made.
The Dolphins sign an aging RB(who by the way is younger than Fred Taylor and Ochocinco at the time of their signings), at the veteran MINIMUM to COMPETE for the #3 spot on the depth chart, not a starting role. That is considered by those same people as a head scratcher move.
That doesn't seem odd to you?
There's a lot to gain from a soon to be 32 yr old RB who hasn't been productive in 5 years and acts like a complete scumbag? Sure, Mando.
You said it yourself. That's your opinion, not the professionals who run this team. Portis was 15 lb overweight from what I heard. Would that be a good thing in your eyes?
