Miami Dolphins HD Screen

Talked w/ one of the guys that was in charge of the project. From Daktronics in Brookings, SD. I asked him about how the project was going late last winter, and he replied he just got back from meeting w/ Wayne and company. He said that Wayne was the best client they ever had. Wayne asked if if there wa anything that could make it better, the simple answere was of course but it would get considerably more expensive. Wayne gave them the go ahead and make it the best it could possibly be. That thing has more lines of resolution than the HD tvs out right now. It is capable of so much. It seems ridiculous.

I think Wayne should open up "Joe Robbie" for away games and play the games on the biggest HD monitor in the world and be the first team to have a 16 game schedule in the stadium. There would be no question as to the official Miami road game hangout. It could be an all day fest. Look at the possibilities!

Search Daktronics on yahoo or google and you should be able to see some interesting info.

DAMN GOOD IDEA!!!

Thanks for the link to YouTube.com

Wow! that thing is off the hook! I might have to make the roadie from MO to Miami and check it out.

BTW, Daktronics is building a similar sized screen for the University of Texas. Theirs is a little taller but not quite as wide. My parking spot at work is on the top deck of a garage about five blocks south of the stadium, and from what I'm seeing, I don't see how their screen is going to be ready for the home opener. Here's what UT is doing to show its progress:

the cool part about the huge HD's are if you are going to a game and are stuck in traffic and the traffic is so bad that the game starts before you get there you can actually watch the game
