Miami Dolphins: Kenny Stills has Priced Himself Out of Miami

Meh this is just a fanblog reposted on the fox website

I'm tellin ya, marquise Goodwin could do what stills can for a fifth of the money. It's time to get smart with the money. I wouldn't be surprised if we do t get anyone and look for grant to take that role.

There is no question at this point Kenny isn't coming back. That money should go to a guard. It's all but official. I wish him well, can't begrudge the guy for getting coin that he's not worth.

I've moved on and I am certain the Dolphins have too. Carroo might not have his speed but he could ultimately be an upgrade.

I think Still's agent hasn't bought him any favors with this tactic of setting such a high asking price through the press.

How's so? Front office's don't negotiate upwards in favor of a player. They'll always lowball so a player and/or agent has to set the bar high initially.

Holy **** what a misleading headline.

Its an opinion piece based on whats reported, there is literally no new info here.

For that much, I let him go. I like the Goodwin idea. I also like Gabriel and Wilson but they are restricted. What would the Dolphins have to give, specifically to sign any of those two??

I am so thankful we have a coach that is so talented offensively. I have 100% confidence that he was a part of the valuation process and has an effective plan in place for how to adjust the offense without him. He will get one of the worst free agent contracts of the off-season with whoever he signs.

Because I think setting the bar high initially can come back to bite you in lost wages. I see it as a gamble. What if now teams aren't as interested due to the high asking price?

Good for him. Get ur money, nothing wrong with that. NFL players have minimal shelf lives and should get the most they can, when they can. Also nothing wrong with letting him walk for that price though. Good move for both parties.

That doesn't make any sense. If a team is interested they will meet with him or his agent and discuss their intentions for pay. Contract negations never work backwards like you are suggesting. No team is going to call about a player asking for $8M and up the offer out of the kindness in their heart to $10-12M. :bobdole:
