On the first day, he got a bit woozy.

“I think he lost his legs a little bit,” Dolphins coach Adam Gase said. “We were kind of giving him a hard time about that but I think those are good that some of our younger guys are going through that right now and realizing ‘Okay, it’s not going to change.’ It’s about recovery, it’s about getting sleep, it’s about hydrating, all those things to put yourself in position to where when you go out there, you can make plays.”

If ur not used to that type of heat, it can definitely drain you quickly. Coming from up north, Gesicki is going to need to get acclimated...he and Smythe both.

He needs some advice from Amendola, who was up north all those years in NE. Then again, Gesicki is a big guy, I'll bet he's lagging a bit.

Mike will get straight, I've always loved the idea of northern teams coming down to play us in humid September.

On a 1-10 scale of worry with Gesicki we are at about a 3. Rookie struggles and conditioning issues aren’t surprising but he’s in a unique spot. The guys ahead of him are named Gray and Derby, the team cleared a path for him to be a year one starter. If he’s not running with the ones by preseason week 3 then it’s time to worry

I'm getting the impression, from the few articles that have been written about him, that Gesicki is a bit of a goofball.

I've been in central Florida since 81 and still hate the heat and this is nothing compared to down south. I hope he can get used to it cause we can really use him.

He’s having a typical rookie camp.

It might take him a year or 2 to blossom, or he may never blossom. People can’t get caught up in this stuff in day 2.

Yet, some will.

You will see a lot of angry fans if he isn’t a stud year one...even with the trend of TEs taking a year or two to actually become a big contributor.

Except that it's been hotter in the PA/NJ area this month than in Florida. If he was up here 2 weeks ago, he'd have been begging for the South Florida sun.

I'm betting the dude put the work in lifting weights and neglected his cardio and diet just a bit. Not a big deal. Won't take him long to get used to it. It's not easy doing cardio at 6' 6" especially if you've added weight.

It's better than coming into camp under weight.

I’m from Jersey (as is Gesicki), and when I make my usual one trip to South Florida a year, the level of heat and humidity always smacks me right in the face when I step outside for the first time after getting off the plane- and I usually go in October lol. Having spent a lot of summers down there at my grandparents’ as a kid, that heat in the summer is on another level for a northerner- and it gets pretty damn hot up here in the summer too, believe me. But I can understand Gesicki having to get acclimated to it, it’s ****ing brutal in July, August, and September.

I dont care what you think the temps were up north nothing smacks you like the everglades swamp heat. Theres just no comparison and Ive traveled alot. I remember 2 years ago traveling in the jungle of central america and coming back to florida in the summer and just being shocked how much hotter and nastier it felt than a true blue jungle near the equator.

Not expecting him to be Kelce or Gronk just yet, redzone and third downs are when we need his abilities at a min this year.

Two most miserably oppressive places I've ever been were in late July southeast of Naples and New Orleans.
