DAVIE — Cornerback Xavien Howard, fresh off being named MVP of the Dolphins for 2018, was back at practice Wednesday morning as the team prepared to face the Bills in Buffalo in the season finale.

Some say for him to be sat, but it's coming up on contract time. He wants get another pick or 2 to ramp up his value. It's not like the Giants sitting OBJ. He got his money.

I don’t mind if he doesn’t play, can’t get hurt. Also a loss wouldn’t hurt so much

He’s good but not 15-16 mil a year good JMO dont kill me please. These big contracts blow up in our face every time. This one will too imo. He’s had a bunch of jump ball picks and the best WRs light him up. He’s solid but not shut down...again jmo

Xavien Howard (knee) limited again Wednesday

Xavien Howard (knee) remained limited at Wednesday's practice.

Coach Adam Gase said Wednesday that Howard, who has sat out the last three games with a meniscus injury, won't suit up for Sunday's finale at Buffalo unless he is completely pain-free. "We need to be smart with that," he added. The first-time Pro Bowler will be eligible for a contract extension this offseason.

Pleeeeease dont overpay for him. He's good but not 15 million good. He got destroyed by Hopkins and good CBs dont get you to playoffs.

Jalen Davis and Cornell Armstrong didnt look too bad. Let them play against Buffalo, see what

Whatever, pay the man. He’s worth whatever the market determines he’s worth.

If you think he got destroyed by Hopkins (largely McCain and a little uncalled offensive PI), imagine what he’d do to Davis and Armstrong. It would be a ****ing bloodbath.

I think the key takeaway for some is that we should actively avoid drafting talented players, because you eventually have to (*gasp*) pay them. More Charles Harris types, please. As the saying goes, “salary cap space wins championships.”

Eh I guess you’re right. Our big money deals have been duds lately but he's gonna get from someone I suppose

TBH, Miami havent had any players that were really elite, that have been let go in the past few years. Some will argue the Landry was, but a slot receiver isnt a game breaker or shouldnt really be considered elite for WR's. Ajayi was good, but inconsistant. Miller was the biggest loss IMO.

When we get players that are game changers, and X is, then we pay him. Same with Tunsil, when the time comes, we pay too keep him. JuWan James as well. Keep the ones that are valuable, pay what they are worth rather than saving a few bucks on journeymen.
