Pink doesn't usually fit in the testosterone-drenched world of football. But it will be all over Land Shark Stadium on Sunday, like it will be all over the NFL as the Dolphins and the league support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Players will have pink cleats, wristbands, gloves, sideline caps, helmet decals, captains' patches or towels. Coaches will wear pink caps and pink ribbon pins. Goal posts will be wrapped in pink padding. The balls used by kickers will have pink ribbon decals.

``I know people think of [the NFL] as male-driven,'' said Jeanette Sparano, wife of Dolphins coach Tony Sparano. ``Obviously, all the players are men, all the coaches. But they all have a mom, a grandmom and an aunt, maybe a sister, a wife, a daughter. So it affects them as much as it affects all of us.''

gay....I dont need pink to be aware of breast cancer....whats next..Hulk Hogan coming out with a pink boa and fu-man-chu?

Great. Henne's first regular season start and he's forced to wear pink cleats and such.

as long as chad doesn't wear pink again next week we're ok. pink would suit ginn nicely.

The way we have been playing we should be wearing pink uniforms every game.

I'm all about raising awareness for breasts.

Cancer. Breast cancer. Yeah.

it's obviously good exposure to a part of the population that often bypasses the importance of the disease...this being said, it's also one of the worst idea ever, just think back at all the times your girlfriend/daughter/wife/mother/sister walked and stopped right in front of the TV set when a big play was happening and you shouted "GET OUT OF THA WAYYYYYY!!!"

This is just the next step imo... which will receive a similar, but more quiet answer (every guy in the country will be like... yeah breast cancer sucks... so does my sunday)

The cause is a great thing, but I'm worried about this. I think BP and company might think as a punishment, after every loss (especially when we look as bad as we have), he's going to make them wear all pink uni's instead of the white.
:chuckle:
