I know what you’re thinking: The Miami Dolphins, losers in three of their past four games before the bye, aren’t going to the playoffs. And even if they stumble into the postseason, the exit will be certain and swift and all that will have been gained is a lower draft spot next spring.

I understand your thinking.

You’re playing the long game in viewing this franchise. You’re not expecting any sort of lasting success from this team. So you’re looking to the future for some hope.

Well, let me give you a little of both ...

I don't doubt they are looking for someone my concern lies in the decision making process. They've been absolutely horrid at quarterback selection and I'm not optimistic they'll be any better this time

That's all like totally obvious... Bigger point is -- we're caught with our pants down yet again at the most critical position on the field.

Year in and year out we neglect the position in the draft and pick humdingers like Parker and Harris and...

So now we're gonna have to force the issue and hope pray we get lucky and land some dude

who can develop right quick or maybe we get super lucky and one of our F Bombs

(Fales or Falk) steps up and plays BIG for us...

Why does this whole situation seem totally predictable?

A lot of fuzziness in that articles. They may release Tannehill, but maybe not. They went 'shopping,' but no one thinks Lynch was any more than JAG. They were 'shopping' when they got Fales. And "I can tell you the Dolphins will be in the market for at least one quarterback again in 2019." That is about as vague as it gets. FA? Draft? Either? And if it's the draft, day 1? Day 3? This sounds more like 'let's see, I have a deadline approaching . . . '

I didn't read any news in that article. The team might get rid of Tanne. They might keep him and bring in competition. I'm gobsmacked by these revelations. Great investigative reporting, Mando, now go get your shine box.

Clowns to the left of me / jokers to the right / here i am stuck in the middle with Thill

Stuck, stuck, and stuck. What a crappy position to be in.

And if Gase gets that hot seat feeling... who knows what desperate moves might be made.

I hope they don't trade away picks for a Tannehill adjacent.

I hope a QB is taken first day in 2019 and in 2020.

I hope RT restructures for a back up role.

I hope, I hope, I hope but with this organization...

Hope / uhh / what is it good for / absolutely nothing

Nothing really new to report, or that the average fan couldn't figure out. But, it's a slow news time with a bye week.

It's obviously a tough position for Miami to be in. Gase gave his all out support to Tannehill when Miami didn't draft a quarterback last May. We all know Tannehill is at least a mid-tier level quarterback. In a way, the current injury forces the organization to find someone better and maybe that's not such a bad thing. Unfortunately, the 2019 draft doesn't look like where it's at to find a replacement.

Looking around the NFL there is a shortage of quality starting and backup QB's. Seeing that Washington is working out Mark Sanchez kind of says it all. QB's don't just walk through the door if you wish hard enough. I don't see any potential free agents in the off season that will knock my socks off and the draft is supposedly weak this year so I am not very confident there will be any drastic moves made to shore up the position for the Dolphins. In this time of uncertainty, I would rather see them address the other needs of the team and not trash a borderline QB with weak OL issues.

I thought this part was funny,
“Lynch was not good, per sources familiar with his performance. So he is not currently on the radar as a possibility for Miami down the road.”

Unfortunately, the 2019 draft doesn't look like where it's at to find a replacement.

This seems to be the motto around here and I don't get it.

Many are yelling for recycled QBs but refuse to take best QB available at 2 or 3. And if the best QB prospect in 2019 falls to us at 1, also a no?

Watch that a bads$$ QB will come out of this draft and we'll all be whinning and crying again, "Why oh why? Woe is me. Damn you Front office! Screw you Drew Brees!"

Your going to take a shot with an nobody-knows-linemen, a nobody-knows anyone. Why not a nobody-knows at the most important position in the game?

If Tannehill gets healthy, let him compete with new blood; Falk, 2019 pick. And if it's merely a close competition, start the young guy.

Young guy sh!ts the bed, sell the 2021 draft to move up in 2020. That's 2 first day picks competing. What more can we ask for?

We're never going to have a future with recycled QBs.

so all of sudden the light came on about qb?? for future and short term?? the dolphins cannot be watch dolphins team because other 31 team been knew that about dolphins and fans that know football..

Its time to finally look into the long term at QB.
They have been putting it off for years waiting for Thill to develop. We all know we need to upgrade at the most important position.
Who knows maybe one of the QB's in the 2019 draft might turn out to be good.
We will never know until they finally realize Thill is not the answer and draft a QB in the first round.
I am still wondering about the Charles Harris pick....OMG
