Paul Pasqualoni, fired as Dolphins defensive coordinator at the end of the season, is now a member of the Cowboys coaching staff, as he was before the Dolphins hired him in 2008.

That means he's a member of the NFC Pro Bowl staff.

Was he surprised by his firing?

"Somebody's got to be accountable, somebody's responsible. And you know, we gave up some plays. At the end of the day, we just gave up too many big plays. I don't know if surprised is the word. Every day you go in, you know you are responsible, you are accountable, you are in a position of leadership as a coordinator. Somebody's got to be responsible. So at the end of the day, you are prepared for anything to happen. So are you shocked? No. Are you surprised? Maybe."

hahahaha... this is nothing new... PP was "surprised" all year long.. so why should we be surprised he was surprised by his firing??

Well, I'm glad he took the firing like a man and wasn't some douche about it.

I can't imagine it's pleasant to be fired by someone you consider your friend or mentor.

I'm glad he isn't creating a big fuss about it.

He sucked in Syracuse and he sucked hear I was just waiting to they kicked him out. Im 100% supportive of this move.

I wouldn't really expect a Parcells guy to say any more than that about his departure from any team. Our players looked confused on a lot of those big plays and he was ultimately responsible for everyone being on the same page. Plus we allowed 16 rushing td's to go along with our secondary woes. I agreed with the firing at the time but now that we landed Nolan as DC I am thrilled.

i will admit that although I know him to be a crap coach even going back from his SU days, this was a classy response..

I would like everyone that is under the age of 30 to understand what "Class" is.

It's how you touch every situation. Touch it with class.

I'm no PP fan, but.......Damn.

That's a good man right there.

I don't have an issue. I respect any coach/player/etc... or speaks what is on his mind. PP said what he thought, and he didn't trash talk or speak down about his former organization in any way. He has handled the process of getting fired with class, and he did a respectable job while he was here.

Wish PP luck with the Cowboys.

Dang I hated him as DC but sounds like a good guy. Thanks for not dissing the organization after they dumped you. Unlike Joey Porter

Surprised he didn't say, "it's tough to to stop big plays when you have no LB's that can run and no FS that can cover. Guess I could have done a better job hiding it though. But hey, let the guys who got these players blame me."

I actually went to Syracuse and am curious to know how you are able to say "He Sucked" when he had a pretty good track record? as the DC for the Phins I woudl say "He Sucked"

Paul Pasqualoni, appearing in 11 bowl games (including 3 major bowls) and winning 9. The team also captured or shared 3 Big East football championships during this period. he was there 14 years.

Since he was let go they have done absolutely nothing so please explain to me how "He Sucked"
