It's easier to write off a pick as a miss when it isn't in the first round, less pressure to get it right. All eyes are focused on the first round and the perception surrounding those players. They should contribute immediately and when they don't it's not a good look. When they bust out, it's a horrible look. We reach too much in the first round...

The only reach I care for is around.

You should never draft a player in the first on potential. You are in the position to pick one of the top 32 players in all of college football. When you reach for a position of need you open yourself up for failure especially when drafting based on what they could be rather than what they currently are. We've been reaching quite a bit these past few years and this is the result of that. Where are all of our All-Pro's?

I feel like Miami is always making the draft harder than it needs to be, like they're trying to outsmart everyone and show people they know what they're doing and they clearly don't. Then you look at teams like Baltimore and they constantly seem to be taking the Best player Available hardly ever projects, and is always a talented team year in and year out.

Miami plays chess when checkers is all that's required and then play checkers when they need to be playing chess. Ravens lose running backs, and they sign Murray, Freeman, and Bell, Miami could use another running back, but they stand pat getting stuffed on 4 and short with Malcolm brown instead.

Crucial distinction. Too many seem to think R1 players should be All-Pro yr 1.

I personally don't think all 1st round picks should be All-Pros in their first year, or even at all, quite the contrary. I was just stating after all of these drafts, where are our All-Pro players. You would think we could have gotten lucky at the very least with a couple of our picks. In the past 5 years, we have drafted 39 players, 36% of them have been in the first two rounds and we didn't hit on one. Granted the jury is still out on this year's players but looking at the recent history, it doesn't bode well for them. Waddle may be the first and only at our current pace if we're lucky...
