Plan of Attack: The Dolphins hold pick 19 and they have got to be thinking about using that pick to help complete the makeover of their offensive line. They’ve already added Branden Albert and Shelley Smith in free agency but still need to upgrade the right side of their line. They would yelp with joy if Taylor Lewan was still on the board, but that is highly doubtful. The more likely scenario is that Notre Dame’s Zack Martin is available when they are on the clock. Martin is a versatile player who can play pretty much any position on the offensive line. The Dolphins would plug him in at right tackle and Ryan Tannehill could then feel much more comfortable about the protection he will be receiving up front. If Martin is gone, things get a bit more tricky for the ‘Phins. They could still address their offensive line needs and slightly reach for a tackle like Morgan Moses or the top guard in Xavier Su’a-Filo. The offensive line isn’t the only need for the Dolphins so there are other ways they could go. If for some strange reason UNC tight end Eric Ebron was still on the board they’d take him with no questions asked. They could roll with safety Calvin Pryor if he slides to them. A young aggressive safety like Pryor, would bring some much needed nasty to their secondary. The Dolphins could also take advantage of a deep corner class and take a talented coverman if one is available. There is a chance Michigan St.’s Darqueze Dennard is on the board, and Va. Tech’s Kyle Fuller is another corner they could go with. The Dolphins could also find themselves in a hot spot to move down. If one of the quarterbacks begins to fall, and if a team like the Texans don’t take a QB early, their phone could start ringing. The Dolphins could slide down, still land a player at a position of need and pick up some more picks. - See more at: http://draftseason.com/miami-dolphins-plan-attack-2014-nfl-draft/#sthash.hJty1N0s.dpuf

The stealers IMO will take Dennard. The Cowboys who need DL will probably take Pryor.

It would not bother me to see SF move up to 19 have the phins get pick 30 plus 2 or 3 more depending on market value.

I understand the draft is thin at Guard so that's a concern, we might pick up one if Martin is not there. But with Hickey, anything goes, we could get anybody, he's looking at all positions and he's working off a bigger board than Jeff Ireland used to use.

If we end up trading down, that might not be so bad because it increases our chances of getting a decent RB thrown in with all our other needs, otherwise we might not pick an RB until the 4th or 5th round and if that's the case forget about getting West or anybody decent. I want another RB besides Moreno.

If you get Travelle Wharton you don't have to worry about guard

I'm going to type something that may seem risky. Perhaps Philbin and Hickey are comfortable enough with their current OL that if even Martin or Lewan are available they may go a different direction in round 1. Maybe the idea of Fox at RT and either Garner or Brenner at RG is confident enough to wait on an OL until round 2 or 3. IMO if Ebron or Lewan is not there at 19 our best case scenario is to try to move back in round 1.

Everyone in this draft wants to move down, the price to move up may not be too expensive. I would pref going up, although risky, for Lewan.

I don't want to reach or move up when we don't have that many picks to begin with. I'd like to move down and get an extra pick in either round 2 or 3 unless someone is just too good to pass on. We need all the help we can get.

Ozzy rules!!

Yelp??? Really?

The Dolphins are now in a much better position to go BPA. No doubt offensive line is still a priority, as is linebacker. If Miami turns those units from a weakness into a strength via the draft, I'd consider it a nice offseason. I could see the team picking a defensive back (I doubt they pick Pryor), or perhaps a wide receiver. Plenty of targets, but one scenario I really like would be Shazier in the first and James in the 2nd.

I have a feeling as we get closer to the draft the price of the FAs will lower. At that point we may see more movement in addressing the oline.

BPA please. We need all kinds of help.

When will people realize that any pick after round 3 has a 20% chance of even being an NFL starter? It's statistically proven. Trading down for more picks is total BS. If another team is dumb enough to do that then trade up and let them go looking for acorns while we get a better impact player in round one. Piss on 4th, 5th and beyond, cuz you can find UDFA guys who could outperform them anyway. Jax needs a ton of picks, get their pick and they can have our 1st & 3rd and 4th rnd pick. We'll take a stud in round 1 who can instantly make our O-line legit in 2014 and a stud LB in round 2. After that it's just camp bodies.

I'm not so sure about this. We did take the BPA, with a trade up of course, to get Dion last year. In retrospect, did we need him? Vernon did very well, and Wake is the man. I'll say Dion has huge upside, but he wasn't a plug in, fix the position answer last year. Especially coming in with a bum shoulder.

I'd like to draft a player with the tools to start this year.
