Miami Dolphins Press Conference 4:15pm est

Philbin isn't Dr. Phil. He shouldn't need to put anything together. If Martin has an issue with Incog he needed to come to Philbin and say it.

So not only do we want this guy to lead us to a superbowl he must also be the team guidance counselor as well? OOOOOKKKK

How do you know he didn't say that during OTAs?

If Philbin couldn't put two and two together, how the hell did he become an NFL coach.

Is it really believable that he media knew there were issues between Martin/Incognito before Philbin knew? Come on now.

We can have an opinion on it because of what Philbin says in his presser. Says he had no idea there were issues between Martin/Incognito before Sunday afternoon yet the media was reporting the issues since Thursday. Are we really going to believe the media has a better idea of what's going on in the locker room than Philbin? If you buy that then I got some ocean front property to sell you here in Arizona.

Why can't you just wait for it to be proven rather than call our HC a liar?

Because Philbin just said he didn't?

Uh. The media didn't know anything until Martin and his lawyer parents started feeding them "information". Are you really this naive on how the world works?

It's not like there's a crack team of detectives that went out and discovered all this stuff the moment they heard Martin had been wronged.

He said he kept contact with Martin and his family and not ONE time did Martin say anything about being bullied or hazed. What else is Philbin supposed to do?

When did the media know there were issues?

ESPN was reporting this story of Incognito as early as Saturday.

And why didn't Philbin know there were issues between two players in his locker room? Martin talked to coach about emotional issues before.

Again what do "emotional issues" have anything to do with this incident? We don't know what exactly was discussed. Maybe he just told Philbin he was depressed. Why are you assuming that Martin made it clear to Philbin that he had a problem with Incognito?

The press conference didn't sit well with me.

Q. What did I expect to hear?

A. Something better.

Per Albert Breer from NFL Network:

"Martin approached Philbin about his emotional issues during OTAs. And per the coach himself, again last week".

Philbin actually said the opposite. Breer is a putz.

And Schefter has reported that multiple members of the team have contacted him to express that they were treated by Incognito in a manner similar to the way he apparently treated Martin. As the whole Paterno/PSU situation proved, it's remarkably difficult to prove to people who don't want to accept it that people in a leadership position like Philbin's had to have known certain things by a certain time. That it's simply implausible that they didn't.

This situation is still new and it's still unfolding. More is to come. I'm sure we'll get a clearer vision of when people knew what in short order. And I'm sure people will still refuse to believe it.

I can't believe either side but I'm not buying what the Dolphins PR is saying right now. Everything in that press conference was rehearsed and was calculated to cover their asses.

Either way, I am sure more mud will be slung from Incognito and Martin's camp and the Dolphins are very guarded right now to protect themselves when that happens.

We all wanted to hear more man. Are you surprised with the way today's media is handled though? We've heard there are possible legal ramifications from this. Can't blame the guy for coming out and being tight lipped. It is required in this situation.

What specific info did they state? The texts and voicemails all came out late Sunday did they not? Yesterday?

At a certain point in the investigation yes. What did he not say that you wanted him to?

Honestly, I'm not sure. But, perhaps at least not the standard pat stuff. I think it was wrong as stated above.
When he said "JM never mentioned..." that was strange because it was mentioned earlier in the year it seems. He just seemed "all self-protection". Was he surprised later in the day when JT did mention stuff? He did not say he was surprised by it. He does not respond well when asked "if you have ever seen anything".

It would take me a while to write a presser for him. Who ever helped him I don't think did well "for him personally". He comes off as covering up.

Do you not have access to the internet? Maybe you should spend a couple hours and catch up on all the info available regarding this situation and THEN make your opinions known.

Look, if Philbin wasn't approached by Martin, and wasn't given the information that Incognito was racially harassing and threatening him, how was he supposed to know? He's not a mind reader, and it's not like it's his job to read a text or listen to a voicemail between players?
