The race between Brock Osweiler and David Fales to win the Dolphins’ No. 2 quarterback job is ongoing, and Osweiler is fine with that.
“Every player in this league is very motivated to prove things on a weekly basis,” he said today. “This is a league that someone’s always coming for your job and you’re always trying to keep your job. That’s what makes this league so special is because the competition’s always so high. We’re all constantly trying to prove something.”

I'm glad he's confident, not so sure anybody else is. Speaks volumes that Miami picked up Luke Falk.

Whether it's hubris or pragmatism, I'm of the opinion that from what Gase saw of Brock in Denver and more recently in TC, he thinks he can whisper sweet "QB somethings" into his ear to turn him into at least an effective back-up, tradeable asset and/or replacement for Ryan. For all we know, although Osweiler looked promising only against scrubinos, maybe Gase has already been at it and likes the results he's seeing.

So I think it's gonna be Fales who'll be gone.

If he wants to prove he belongs in the NFL, stop looking like a deer in headlights.

BO and Falk. Gase wants and needs at least one semi-experienced QB as a backup who can discuss things with THill from a "been there done that" point of view.

Not as mentor of course, but as a sounding board.

I think the staff took Osweiler off the trash pile to refurbish his career and put his previous struggles behind him.
Later in the season there will be a team that is decimated by QB injuries and the Fins will deal him for a draft pick.
I don't see any other reason to keep him on the roster.

No question Osweiler did better in preseason play, but Fales did better at practice. IMO its best to keep the guy that did better in preseason play. Bye Fales

I saw him eating at the Mexican restaurant at the W hotel in Fort Lauderdale beach last week. I think he might be living at the residences there temporarily like Cutler did last year. Another thing he and Cutler have in common.
