Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore finished the 2011 season with a 6-3 finish.

Instead, this was the first look at the Dolphins’ new quarterback competition between Matt Moore and David Garrard. And regardless of what the Dolphins do during this weekend’s NFL draft, it’s the battle that’s likely to stretch deep into August.
Moore earned praise last year for helping the Dolphins to a 6-3 finish after replacing the injured Henne, who signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March.
Gerrard, who signed with the Dolphins last month after missing 2011 due to injury, is hoping to recapture the flare that helped him to the 2010 Pro Bowl when he was the Jaguars starter.

I'd be shocked if Garrard could wrestle the starting position away from Moore.

He's 34, had surgery on a herniated disk, Moore had a solid year in relief for Henne, and has had a year to get his timing down with the other players. If we could get the Garrard of old that'd be great, but I'd give him a 15% chance. That number would be even lower if we weren't installing a new system.

As long as its not Tannenhill!! If we draft him, it'll be a long time before we rebound from that mistake. I'm hoping for Floyd. Fills that void left by Marshall and gives us that true #1.

Moore may have had a year to get his timing down with the other players but based on the career low stats of those players, I wouldn't say there is much chemistry between them.

Moore will have to do something this year that he struggled to do last year, make quicker decisions due to favorable matchups and not rely on "Feeding the Beast".

you got that right...lmao
Local beat writers probably have this article set as a template. Miami Dolphins Quarterback Battle Between _____ and _____ Begins! Actually, they just took out the blanks. Even better.

Forgot he had surgery on a herniated disc. From what I read on here when Manning decided to go elsewhere, that makes him one hit away from death.

There's no guarantee. Moore is the favorite to win the job, but you never know. Competition brings out the best in everybody.
