The best part of this is Earl Mitchell did not travel with the team and Suh will not play. That gives a great look at Chris Jones and Jordan Phillips as the starters. I'm sure they will play a full quarter at least.

It's not ideal since Williams, Wake and Jason Jones will also NOT play but we will likely see a lot of McCain, Branch and Fede. Likely an audition for 31 other teams for these guys outside of Branch.

the only thing is this team is thin at dt...need 4 for the rota...one injury and Jason jones and possibly fede are getting dt rotation reps in more than the sub

last thing I want is a Jordan Phillips injury

Unfortunately injuries are part of football and can iccur at games or practice. They happen to all teams stars or not. I agree with Coach Gase but if the back ups get hurt we have to deal with it like all teams do. My biggest concern is the number of guys nursing injuries now so any time off to get ready for a tough first few games will be a positive.

Fede definitely needs a long look. Jason Jones in a way is the old vet version of himself and now Fede's on the bubble.

Why play any preseason games then? If the first game, they don't want them hurt, why play the rest of the preseason. Players talk about getting aggressive in practices and that they want to hit other teams instead of their own team. This is an opportunity for that. But if you sit them one game, at home or not, why not the rest?

I'm so ****ing sick of Dallas Thomas. I refuse to play the "#63 drinking game" again this season. I refuse.

If they make me play that game, I won't watch.

Some people need more work than others.

Some people need more work than others.

Not to mention the fact that they probably want to get a better idea of what they have for depth on the dline, what better way to do that then throw them up against the 1's (for one possession) and 2's?

Reshad jones , Brandon Albert should be on that list too. I would sit them. They got nothing to prove.

I am eager to see Chris Jones. I think he can penetrate pretty well with quickness off the ball. But I want to see if he can hold the point of attack and keep blockers off the LB so they can roam and make tackles.

Mitchell is useless in this regard. Phillips got too upright last year which allowed the guards to get him up and moved out of the way. Let's see if Phillips' mechanics are better and whether his weight loss helps.

Our Run D was very leaky last year and on our list of problems, this is way up there. Granted, our MLB was a disaster last year, but it all starts up front.

We gave up runs off the edge too, so I'd be inclined to move Wake to pass rush situations. It would keep him fresh too. Let's see Branch and/or Jones on one side and Mario on the other on base downs.
