Laremy Tunsil is the only starting left tackle in the NFL to not allow a sack this season.
So, yes, the Miami Dolphins were surprised he wasn’t named to the Pro Bowl team this week.
“He’s the best tackle in football,” coach Adam Gase said Wednesday. “I was shocked because without him, we can’t do anything. He’s on an island every play every game and he knows it. We tell him in the meetings. ‘Here’s what we’re doing protection-wise,’ and I tell him, ‘You’re on your own.’ And the way he sets and the way that he punches and sits down...”
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who trusts Tunsil with his blind side, agreed.
“Laremy has been huge,” Tannehill said. “Honestly, I’m shocked too. He’s been such a good player for us this year. I’m really disappointed to not hear him announced as a Pro Bowl player. I think that he’s been every bit of that for us and the way that he’s played, both in the run and the pass game. He’s strong, he’s athletic, he’s everything you look for in a tackle. We have a ton of confidence in Laremy and I think he should get a little bit more respect for it.”

Not shocked. This oline as a whole is too garbage for one single part to shine. When we start dominating the line of scrimmage again he will get the accolades he deserves until then he will just be overlooked on this dumpster line. This draft and free agency we should strive to net a... QB, LB, CB, DE, LG, RG, C, RT and LT.

I want to see an emphasis on the oline like never before. Not just 1 or 2 picks. We need at least 8 new guys for that oline.

We have to learn that our oline is only as good as its back ups. We need to get quality depth for when injuries inevitably happen.

He's has a great year but the question is, who do you leave out from the players that made it?
I'm pretty sure by the time the flag football game they call the pro bowl rolls around he might be in it after 17 different guys drop out of it.

agree with all of the above... PRO Bowl pop awards are based on recognition and like it or not

winning teams get more respect than teams like Gase coach. Consistency matters and

playing in a winning program helps a lot -- in terms of any one players perceived value.

Plus -- great coaches make players like Tunsil a lot better than he's shown so far...

He played like a pro bowler this year no doubt but the rest of the oline and offense didn't really help him get any credit.

The offense leaves a lot to be desired. We aren't going to have a single one thousand yard rusher or receiver this year. We might not even have a receiver crack 600 yards this year.

But but but our coach is a great offebaive mind...how?

The team isn't respected enough to get those type of nods....

Nonsense. Its an individual honor.
Aeneas Williams was a perennial pro bowler and played for the Cardinals when they stunk. How do you explain Joe Thomas?
The phins are an average team, not the doormat some of you falsely pretend they are. It’s a travesty he didn’t get voted in.

Pro Bowl...when you speak of Williams toy shouldn't forget to mention that every season he was in the Pro Bowl, he was also either 1st or 2nd team All Pro. Same with Thomas. Tunsil ain't no HOFer yet, so you can miss me with comparing him to them.

That said, if you don't think the league looks at the Dolphins and the o-line as a joke then you didn't watch the last game. If you ask me, Tunsil threw in the towel at some point.

Nobody is really saying the team is trash, that's how you're doctoring the convo. The team is "Meh" and it's tough to stand out when the public outside your fan base doesn't care about you.

Your post is a litany of false arguments. Williams and Thomas didn’t enter the league as HOFers. They built a resume. And that starts with their play on the field.
The interior of the Phins Oline is irrelevant as it relates to Tunsil. I’m not “doctoring” any convo. I’m simply disputing some of the false justification for Tunsil getting snubbed.
Again, the pro bowl is a recognition of INDIVIDUAL achievement. Doesn’t matter if the team is “Meh” or not.

Ok...since you're hellbent on Tunsil getting snubbed. Who should he have gotten the nod over between Lewan, VillVillanova, Fisher...and include your reasoning.

The Pro Bowl is a lot like the HOF.

Popularity contest.

You know, it’s kinda hard to give a nod to a guy who is part of a line that gave up 9 sacks.

In one game.

Even if that guy had nothing to do with it.

He probably was deserving based on his performance, but the line as a whole stunk and the Dolphins get no respect as it is. Not a surprise that he didn't the nod. Bullshit, I know, but that's the way it is.
