Miami Dolphins sign rookie OG Donald Thomas

Alright now lets work on getting Merling and Henne signed. Those two will be the hardest of the remaining players to get signed.

Im sure well get them signed soon. 2nd rounders and later picks usually sign quickly

The problem with Merling is that he may want 1st round money as he was selected #32 and that originally would've been the last pick in the 1st round if not for the Patriots losing their pick.

Im not sure its a problem, however, maybe a thought, but not a problem, because not only does Miami have over $20M in cap money, but Merling also is the future of the defense,so I wouldnt think Sparano and Parcells would want another dilemma on their hands(the other is Jason Taylor).

Henne better not think he's Quinn when it comes to signing. If his agent brainwashed him into thinking he's our next starting QB, we could have a holdout.

If he knows what's good for him, he'll sign quick and cheap!!

I don't see the dilema - he was the 1st pick of the 2ND rd. Money is slated by rd first and then pick. What about all of these comp picks that we never get in the 3rd rd? Are they given 4th rd money? That is where the pick would normally fall. I love this FO - they are getting it done - no messing around!!

Dont really see why some of you are worried about signings non-first rounders.

They dont hold out.

As for Merling at #32, it really wont matter, he will just get some kind of contract based on past picks at that spot. Its not like #32 normally gets a substantial raise over #33, just because they were in the first round.

now that would be freakin hilarious... If Henne tries holding out im sure Ireland and Parcells would laugh right in his face... He was the 57th pick in the draft, thats nowhere to let an ego get the best of you.

I like this guy. He's real quick. I think Murphy will start in the end, but this guy could be great.

Of course this all depends on what McKinney can give us this year.

I don't really think that there will be a Merling holdout. His agent also represents Parcells and Sparano. I doubt their agent will try to strongarm them.

Look at last year, the difference between last first round pick and first second round pick was quite large actually...
