Miami Dolphins starting to become Laughing stock in the NFL

What I've seen is that they did their homework and have a promising new head coach (after not succuming to Fisher's unreasonanble deamnds), kept realtively quiet and got an audience with Manning (when many teams couldn't), and might have gotten him if Marshall wasn't being Marshall...and then got rid of Marshall as soon ASAP to the one team he wanted to go to and would give something up for him...

Obviously there's still a lot of work to be done, but where are the follies?

might as well keep it going and just mess up the whole thing and sign back ups, and draft busts, its like that comedy movie, that keeps u laughing

What happened to this once beloved franchise?? The last 10 years his franchise failed to do the right things. The front offices failed with bad drafting free agents and bad personnel decisions. I've been a fin fan 20 years plus and everyone wanted to play for Miami. It seems like Miami is the last place ppl would wanna play for. Stephen Ross is a joke of an owner. He bought the franchise to buy it. He has no knowledge of football. He thinks money will buy anyone. Ireland is joke of all jokes. I'm fed up of losing every yr.

Here's to more losing seasons to come.

so youre saying they arent taking pro football seriously in south florida?

Although I will admit we somehow got worse since free agency started yesterday without losing a free agent...

Oakland, Washington, now Miami!?

All you fans want to be the laughing stock of the league.

The Bills are #1 so get over it.

it starts with the fanbase. horrific
No, it starts with Huizenga and now with Ross.

Our fan base was one of the biggest, proudest there was in the league. Our stadium was full every ****ing game. Don't blame the fans for the past 15 years, this one is on our **** owners. We have nothing to cheer for, and another losing season coming up soon.

Actually Oakland and Washington are better franchises than Miami. Sorry. It's sad this is coming from me but it is sooooo true. Ireland is the next mike milbury of football. Btw for those who don't know milbury, he was the gm of the islanders that backtracked the franchise15 yrs. Ireland so reminds me of him

oh one of these threads? Seriously people, during the season people make this thread every week. Then after every draft, and come to think of it, during free agency.

Guys you have it all wrong. What Jeff Ireland is doing is brilliant! We are playing possum and when the rest of league leats expects it, we will announce the signing of 5 CFL studs and the league/media will rue the day they disrespected us....RUE IT!!!

They let Don Shula go, since then we had Jimmy Johnson who sh.t on Marino, then we get Wandstedt, and the list goes on, then The God Parcells comes in and in my estimation ruined us even further, and leaves us with Jeff Ireland, and to top it off we have an owner who is more worried about glamour and glitz of celebrity owners than football. Parcells was living in the past with the way he approached the game, we are still trying to recover from him, but we have his little puppet Ireland. So we will keep what we have been getting the same results because they are to stubborn to admit their way is by the wayside>

Shula should have been let go much sooner. He helped implode the team with his hubris. Marino carried the franchise for a decade and a half. He was the only thing standing between epic badness and respectability for this team. The Robbies weren't going to curtail Shula's personnel power. Huizenga gave him just enough rope to hang himself and the franchise. Shula's ineptitude as a GM was so manifestly obvious that he should have been prescient enough to step back from those responsibilities, but he wouldn't. So we got a steady diet of Billy Milners, Eric Kumerows, John Bosas and Sammie Smiths in the draft and a bunch of Eric Greens, Gene Atkinses and Michael Stewarts in free agency. The team began a slow decline after the fruits of the Bobby Beathard and George Young years began to wilt. Marino was a lottery ticket that we got lucky with and Shula lived on it for 12-years. He wouldn't even **** can Olivadotti. The franchise became dysfunctional when stroking legends like Shula and Marino became the primary goals instead of pursuing greatness. JJ should have been allowed to deal Marino, but Huizenga the star-****er he was, wouldn't have it. This franchises problems are decades old. They predate even Huizenga's ownership.
