Miami Dolphins talking points: Lack of red-zone touchdowns a red flag

Coach Tony Sparano said Miami’s offense was “lousy” in the red zone during last Sunday’s loss at San Diego.

It’ll need to improve quickly for the 0-3 Dolphins to avoid a free fall during the coming weeks.

Following Sunday’s visit from banged-up Buffalo, the Dolphins face the Jets’ second-ranked scoring defense twice, the Saints’ top-ranked offense in between, and then head to New England. If the Dolphins’ 26th-ranked scoring offense doesn’t wake up, the four-game stretch could put Miami in an inescapable hole before mid-November.
