LOOKING FOR GEMS
The Dolphins gave up a second-round pick in the Marshall trade, but they gained a fifth-round pick by sending Ted Ginn Jr. to the 49ers. With the 10 picks, the team could land several starters through the draft.
Last year, four rookies saw considerable playing time (Vontae Davis, Sean Smith, Brian Hartline and Chris Clemons), and only Smith and Davis were first-day picks. The Dolphins will look to duplicate or improve this year the type of rookie production they had last season.
And adding Marshall to the roster should give the team more more flexibility in the draft.
``I do think there's strength in this draft,'' Ireland said. ``I think it has really good players. It's just a little deeper than I've seen in the past.''
