Miami Dolphins to fans: Don't record our practices

Naturally enough, if the coaches are working on certain play, formations, etc that opposing teams have never seen before, then they will want to keep them a secret until they decide to use them.

I'm actually amazed that training sessions are open to the public.

I'll never forget the interview with J.Johnson about stopping the Bills option (which they never ran all year) in the Superbowl. He said he was watching the news and the reporter was where the Bills were practicing (in the back ground) and he saw them running it so they prep'd for it and completely shut it down in the Superbowl.

So you never know who's watching, therefore you can never be to carefull.

Comeon... seriously if another team actually gave a rats behind about our early practices, the ones open to the public, they'd send in people to take notes. Sheesh this is rediculus.

Why take notes when you can add the element of video. You have to constantly look down while taking notes, but with a video camera you catch EVERYTHING...both sound and video

Please tell me your kidding!? 2 words for you Bill Bellicheck
i think what he means is that if a team wants to "spy", they are going to go to the practices and take notes. They don't need the video/pictures from fans to get it. If they wanted it bad enough, they'd find a way. Stopping people from taking pictures and video is not going to do anything.

i don't think that's the point. the point is, another team finding out an opponents plays. you don't need sound and video when you see ginn throwing the ball...

It's most definitely the point. So if you were a coach and could get away with it you would take notes as opposed to a video camera?! From what I understand most coaches watch hours of game/practice tape as opposed to notes. Tell me this, did the national media report that Bill Bellicheck's "aide" get caught with a video camera?

Hell look at what it did for Bill Billicheat in 2007, they went undeafeated.

no, that's not what i'm saying. What i'm saying is, is that teams have professional scouts. They watch players/teams for a living. They would get the same things out of taping a video, by just taking notes. Sure, video is easier, but not being able to is not going to stop anything. Plus it ruins the experience of the fans, imo.

when you sell your adversary short; Is when you lose.

Meaning if the want to work on plaYs in secret, then they need to find a secret place to train. Becuz if they dont have moles in the camps of the teams they are playing, they should!
