Miami Dolphins to officially part ways with Chad Henne

Bye...Bye...

***Cork popping***

Henne developing the way he did, was due to being coached up by the likes of CheckDown Penny.

The hate people have for Henne is surprising. The guy came in and made improvements, was it the improvement needed to lock down the starter job, no. But either way, I unlike you, wish him the best. The guy made good with the situation he was put into.

When your busy trying to emulate the almighty Pennington, eventually you lose who you are or who you were.

Not too far-fetched considering both who Chad would be replacing and the reality that for the last few years many of us have maintained that the only difference between them was really a porous O-line, WRs w/butterfingers, spotty running game, and poor offensive game calling (and will that really change for them?)...and wouldn't ya know it, guess who those very same excuses are now being used to exonerate. Ironic, eh?

This season recap courtesy of a JetsInsider poster who's no longer chug-a-lugging the lemonade.

Dallas - 1 yard TD "drive" after a Sanchez pick (basically a pick 6)Buffalo - 20 yard TD "drive" after a Sanchez pick
Philly - 17 yard TD "drive" after a Sanchez fumble
NYG - 19 yard TD "drive" after a Sanchez fumble
NE - Ninkovich 12 yard INT return for TD
Den - Goodman 26 yard INT return for TD
Bal - Webb 73 yard INT return for TD
NYG- Sanchez tackled in end zone
Bal - Sanchez strip sack, 6 yard TD return
Bal - Sanchez strip sack, 26 yard TD return

Sanchez killed the Jets this year.

Why not let the guy try out and see what happens? Just letting him go makes no sense to me. He's got a strong arm but obviously made some bad decisions. I think the biggest problem was the conservative play calling. Knowing our luck he will go somewhere else and be a stud lol

Which begs the question mr Ireland why did you and parcells draft him but oh well three straight misses on 2nd round qb's. Not an easy task lol

He blows. A try out won't change what we already know about him.

Chad came a long way in Miami since being drafted, but the same flaws always bite him on the arse.
Bad pocket awareness, locking on to receivers, and not being able to reacquire the receivers visually after looking them off. He also had a bad tendency to rifle passes in situations where a different type of pass should be thrown.
That said, he did his best down here. He gave 100% and I appreciate that.

Prediciton: By the 8th game of next season, Henne will be the second "Chad" who's started for the jest.

Then down by 2 with less than a minute left in the game, Chad Henne will throw an int inside the 40 to seal the loss like he always does!

These misses have killed us through the years. We missed out on a half dozen(or more) quality starters.

I don't think it's the whole someone "pushing him" stuff, he played poorly but the O played poorly around him. I think someone like Henne is perfect b/c he has tons of starting experiences, has proven he can play in this league(though not be a quality starter) and if Sanchez is banged up he can come in and hold the fort until sanchez gets back. The last 2 years if Sanchez got hurt we had 40+ yr old mark Brunell, I think there were times when mark was hurt enough where he should sit out a game but didn't b/c of the backup. Brunell was a great resource for him but brunell can't play anymore.

And Jets fans tell me I'm crazy when I say that Sanchez is turning into the Henne of the Jets. Half of the fans are saying "He only needs 1 more year, It's his O-line and he doesn't have any receivers to throw to!" And the other half are saying "We need a real QB, Sanchez will never get past mediocre!"

Every time I go to the Jets board I feel like I've been reading a Dolphins forum of the past 3 years.

Try out? He's had a 4 year tryout, resulting in a 75 qb rating, and a 13-18 record as a starter. His tryout is over.
