Today, Tony Sparano suggested that he will keep the status quo as far as splitting carries this season.

He was asked first about Ronnie Brown:
"Not having to battle the offseason rehab, and doing all that he was able to do, I would hope that Ronnie would be able to take the next step in his progression with another good offseason. Ronnie had a great offseason last year with that rehab, he really did, but as you know we had to kind of ween him into the spring a little bit. But now we don’t have to guard those reps. Ronnie can go. And we can get Ronnie going early in this process, which should just help him."

And on the two backs:

"All I know is I look around the league right now and I see fewer and fewer teams that have one guy running around back there. And the teams that do, you better guard him pretty good, honestly, because these guys are too big and too strong on the other side for one back to be bringing it up in there 35 times a game, 16 weeks of the season. That’s a hard deal."

i like our two back system too..

I think Ricky could use an upgrade with a fast chris johnson/sproles or even a bruise, big or small JonesDrew/BJacobs.. I think Rashard Jennings would be a perfect fit..

However, Ricky might be even better now that he is back in the game. He looked underweight and i hope he bulks up and increases his production.. Since we are getting ricky for dirt cheap, we have a pretty solid no.2 back with some pass catching versatility..

Parmele would have done well, Hilliard hasn't done much..

I think ricky finishes his contract here, and we upgrade with a rookie rb next year. rookie rb's can make big impacts, it isn't a position that takes 2-3 years to develop.

Better improve the 17 th rated rushing attack .... it was 3rd rushing attack in the AFC east .

That had as much to do with the OL then anything else. We had to manufacture good matchups to make up/hide our deficiencies last year on the OL..

The thing is, we're not getting Ricky for dirt cheap anymore. He signed a one-year extension last August. At $3.4mil for 2009, he's extremely well paid for the role that he currently has on the team. I like having him around for insurance against an injury to Ronnie, but it's hard to see him earning his keep in 2009, production-wise, based on what we're paying him.

Williams will get a $3.4 million base salary in 2009 and a $100,000 workout bonus for that offseason as part of the deal. There are no additional incentives in the deal for 2009.
