The 2019 NFL Draft is just days away, and Miami currently holds the 13th overall pick. However, the Dolphins could be better off trading that pick away to accumulate more draft capital. The Dolphins aren’t ready to compete in 2019, and they’ll need as many picks as possible to build for the future. Of course, it takes two to tango, and several teams could be interested in giving up picks for Miami’s first-round selection.

In order to keep this exercise somewhat realistic, it’s important that both sides receive a fair deal. The NFL draft trade value chart assigns an arbitrary point value to every pick in the draft. According to this metric, the Dolphins draft is currently worth a collective 1,864.6 points, with their top pick worth 1,150. Any trade scenario proposed would involve both teams receiving essentially the same point totals.

I'd take the skins trade. Move back just two spots and get that extra 3rd. Houston and and Philly are also teams to keep an eye on and they both have extra picks in round two.

With so many stud defensive players and potential QB slides there should be a lot of interest in our #13 pick. Moving back in the teens for an extra third or to the twenties for an extra second should still mean we get a decent starting OL/CB and then can look at the DL in round two.

In addition to the article I think Carolina and Houston are good candidates to want to trade up for OL starters - we could move down three spots and get a third out of Carolina, or drop to #23 and get an extra second from Houston.

id like to see us make a deal with Washington/NYG to drop a couple spots to let them get a QB, and then move down to the mid 20's for a team coming to take an OL before Minnesota.
