Miami Dolphins trying hard to recapture frustrated fan base

My god this is pathetic. Ross didn't know **** about football, so he made an ass out of himself with this "glitz". No one can argue that, because the organization itself is admitting it. (Maybe GoonBoss can come suck some crown down...) Now Ross is flipping it all around thinking that will get fans back. HE DOESN'T GET IT. HE NEVER WILL. WINNING!!! THAT IS WHAT THE FANS WANT. The fans put up with Parcells and the ultra-secret crap without worrying about it as long as what? WE WERE WINNING. Stop winning, and then people will look in all kinds of places for excuses...WIN AND WE COME BACK.
You have anger issues.

Winning at home is key. If we go 8-0 at home the fans will keep coming back regardless of the final record. The best thing we can do is take advantage of our home field advantage: The heat. The fast paced offense we're looking to instill will be huge if we can run it effectively and whoever the QB is is smart enough to keep the defense from substituting. The lack of primetime games will help us this year at home too. If Philbin is any good at all we should go at least 6-2 at home this season.

You definitely want home field back but the division games are way more important to me. Three at home and three on the road.
That is the key. Let's not lose focus here.

How does the orange carpet keep the team from winning? Wouldn't you rather have this "clueless owner" preoccupied with trying to enhance the fans experience with off the field stuff rather than sticking his nose in the football decisions. Personally I like the idea of the orange carpet but maybe he should have waited until we had a few decent seasons, anyway I don't really see how it hurts. I know if I bring my wife to the game she's going to be 10 times more excited to see some celebs than the actual game.

Are you really arguing for the very policies they are now renouncing??? You are trying to defend what they are no longer even trying to defend.

I just want you to explain how the orange carpet costs us games, you're the one that is outraged over it.

And where did I mention "orange carpet"...I didn't. How about you explain why you continue to defend the items that they themselves are now rejecting.

The real point is this: The changes that they talking about above are as meaningless to winning as your "orange carpet".

I'm thrilled to see the level of recommitment to the fans, you know the lifeblood of any football team. Of course all of this is for naught if winning doesn't soon follow. Finally the corner I want to see the management turn is how they deal with outgoing players. I'm still not thrilled with how Bell was dealt with this offseason, nor the fact that Zach wasn't given a proper retirement, etc etc.

That isn't a good thing. Take a chill pill and stop making things seem like the end of the world when they are not.

You know, I watched a show the other day that did an experiment in human interaction and group psychology. It put together a group with individuals and the group would agree on something that wasn't true...like they could see a cat up in a tree; and would belittle the person if they couldn't see it too. After a while, two things would happen; either the person would actually agree that the cat was there, even though it wasn't, or they would would pissed off because the group was telling him something that his own "lying eyes" didn't see.

Do you get my point? Which category of the people in the scenario do you think I fall into....well let me tell you, THERE IS NO ****ING CAT UP IN THE TREE!

I never thought the orange carpet and all the minority owners had an effect on the Dolphins on-field performance anyway. I don't think this is pathetic either. I mean what's wrong with trying to recapture the fan base? It's supposed to be a positive thing

To recapture the fan base the Dolphins must win on the field.
Everything else is merely lip service.

Yea. It sounds great and all. But I never really put much thought into the side shows; positive or negative. What glitz are we talking about? Celebrity owners? Halftime events? Do any of those have any effect on weakness at QB? Guys, there was no distractions. Some of you may have all hated all the off-field decisions, but the fact of the matter is, they don't matter. We haven't had a QB since Dan retired. That's why this franchise has had as rough of a decade as the Dolphins have had. That and making wrong hires for head coach and not so great free agent signings. Now, this new approach may get the fan base' interest back up temporarily, but unless we're winning or at least showing promise with Tannehill being someone we can build around, it surely will not keep our interest very long.

Does this mean we don't get to listen to Marc Anthony every time a play is under review??? Bummer...

I have been a loyal Fin fan for years now, through the good and bad times, Cheering during the great plays and wallowing through the rough ones.

I not going anywhere!!

Go Fins!!
