Something is certainly wrong. I'm sure it has something to do with money. It's always about money.

Back and forth several times, Dolphins strong-side linebacker Matt Roth sprinted shirtless the length of the football field Thursday afternoon, drenched in sweat as two trainers held stopwatches to time each run.

He was isolated from his teammates, just as he had been for the 25 practices to this point, apparently rehabilitating from a groin strain that caused him to fail his conditioning test when training camp began Aug. 2.

But no longer is Roth simply isolated from his teammates during workouts. With each lost day, his situation has caused an icy disconnection from the entire organization, all the way up the chain to vice president of football operations Bill Parcells.

The team is not happy with Roth. Specifically, as has been substantiated by multiple sources, the Dolphins are mystified why one of their most consistent, hardest-working players from a year ago has held himself out of practice for this long.

And Drew "Money" Rosenhaus is his agent. Coincidence? :ponder:

weird... I wonder if he just doesnt want to go through training camp and is being a p****. Sounds that way IMO

Could be about money, maybe he's upset we brought back JT? Or maybe he really has a groin issue.....either way, WELCOME TO THE BENCH!

And Drew "Money" Rosenhaus is his agent. Coincidence? :ponder:

Drew Rosenhaus works for the player he represents. It aint the other way around. You may not like Drew's persona, but if one of his players holds out, its cause the PLAYER was greedy, not Drew.

Drew is a convenient fall guy, and he plays his role well. If Roth (or any other player holds out), it is because the PLAYER told Drew to ask for more money. Yes, Drew's opinion is taken into account, but at the end of the day, Matt Roth, and the PLAYER have the power to approve deals.

He's a pretty dam mediocre player to be holding out for money. If he really isn't hurt anymore and isn't playing with the team, I say show him the door. Good luck finding the money you want from another team.

If he really is hurt, sorry Roth, you're still cool in my book. Get well soon.

I partially agree with your post, however you can't convince me that Drew is not in his players ear telling them that they deserve more $ or to hold out as a strategic move. Unfortunatley most of these players don't understand the financial part of the game and trust him to make decisions on their behalf. I do think that the player does have some responsibility in this but you can't put it entirely on them.

Im not sure even Drew is dumb enough toi tell Roth to hold out of TC while a guy like JT takes his reps and Wake seems to be getting better and better....not a smart move.

Its not about money!!!! He is injured, oops I mean hurt and the front office is just covering it up. His groin is still not healed and the front office did not want it leaked out to the press. But his agent let the cat out of the bag.. It's not that hard to see fellas. He would not be on the practice field if parcels favorite groin specialist(wow that doesn't sound right)didn't say he was ok or almost healed. This is the press trying to sir up some some bull crap news. Plain and simple. And Sparano's answers to all of this has been the old Tap Dance manover. He'll keep spinning it and spinning it and spinning it. Just like belicheat does and we all know who he learned it from.

Maybe we are looking at this the wrong way. If Roth was holding out for more money I don't think he would be doing sprints, I think he would be still nursing his groin in the training room. In the article it reads Roth was "drenched in sweat as two trainers held stopwatches to time each run." To me this sounds like a guy who is working pretty hard to get back on the field. Hopefully he is working on his conditioning so he can pass his test and get his *** back to work.

Is this all aiming at a trade? I wonder.

Who is going to want a injured player, hence all the cover up..But I think we definelty had thoughts of unloading him from the start of camp with wake and taylor coming on board, but now that is out the window.
