One day, the Wildcat formation might be such a routine part of the Dolphins' offense, so mundane, that watching it might actually be boring.
Monday was not that day.

And today - when highlights of the Dolphins' dramatic, 31-27 victory over the New York Jets are shown across the country - will not be that day, either.

Because the Dolphins continue to prove that magic will ensue no matter which running back, Ronnie Brown or Ricky Williams, takes the direct snap to start a play.

The Dolphins ran 16 plays out of the Wildcat formation for 110 yards. That made the run-based offense seem as unpredictable and exciting as the days when a quarterback wearing No. 13 was under center for Miami.
On the third play of Monday night's game, Brown pumped his leg, took the snap from the shotgun and fired a pass downfield for tight end Anthony Fasano. He was wide open for a 21-yard gain.

It was only the second time Brown had thrown a pass from the Wildcat since the Dolphins started using it in Game 3 last year. That time, Brown completed a 19-yard pass to Fasano in the win against New England.

"We pride ourselves on being versatile," Williams said. "I just didn't think they expected us to be this physical."
