Miami Dolphins: Why the hate for Brian Hartline?

When did a 5.2 YPA become respectable? (I think you meant to say 6.4) Tim Tebow, who can't pass had a 6.4 one last season. Rodger's was 8.2 and 8.3 in the same seasons.

Of course you can compare QB and different offenses. Ours had a inaccurate QB with little to do touch on the ball and a offensive passing game that was not based on routes that relied on YAC. The passes that did, like go routes etc, Chad Henne could not hit because he cannot throw OVER anyone because he has so little touch on the ball.

Last season Brandon "The Beast" Marshall had a YAC of only 2.9 playing with Chad Henne. Was that because Marshall was weak and not physical enough to break tackles? Did he struggle getting off the line in press coverage while also dropping a lot of passes in the redzone. a place where he was the main target?

In his 3 years seasons with the Dolphins, B Hartline had a 4.57 YAC average. In his 2 seasons with the Dolphins, B "the Beast" Marshall had a 3.47 YAC average.
I am not debating the YAC aspect. My concern is how he will be able to get off the line and create separation.

I can't recall Hartline ever having a problem with this, he's knows how to fight jams, and catch back shoulder balls, relook at the video that started this thread.

If getting off the line and creating seperation is Hartline's biggest problem, then you can help him in this area based on formations. You can put him in short, medium or long motion. You can stack him behind another receiver or use the bunch formation.

Coming from someone that is stuck on the most useless stat a WR can have, YAC, this is funny.

I did not make the Nelson stats, Adam did, I guess he wanted a equal number.
More commentary on stats when I was talking about actually watching him play. Bravo. You keep talking about fantasy football, I'll keep talking about the real thing. I guess I'm crazy for expecting a WR to actually do something with the ball after he catches it rather than immediately folding. About the only stat that can possibly show that is YAC, both average per catch and total (the latter of which he amassed an "amazing" 81 yards for the season).

He'll have his place on the team if he can get open for a split second around the 1st down marker, but it certainly isn't as the #1 WR on the team. A top WR is a threat when he gets the ball in his hands. Hartline doesn't qualify. Again, you can look at your pretty little stats all you want and it won't make any difference. Hell, you can probably put together your stats in a way that makes Naanee look like the greatest WR in the history of the NFL.

And thank you for acknowledging you can twist stats around to fit your viewpoint. :d-day:

You are the one that brought up his one season of having a 2.9 YAC, not me. I'm also sure that you are the one that plays fantasy football since you talk about it all the time. I've never played it. Whjat would YAC have to do with Fantasy football anyway? Is that all you have, is that the best you can do? Because it is lame.

I did show you that you were cherry picking a few stats to fit your argument and ignoring those that did not.

You do not seem to understand the important of a better QB in a WR's play.
